The music is fantastic! I liked Predator 2 but why wasn't there a Predator 3 going back to Dutch as an older grizzly man suffering with PTSD which he overcomes by another encounter with a Predator would have been awesome. The other films were sooo bad.

Agreed, and maybe not just for it's smartly put-together cast, but also because the idea of the plot was something very different by crossing over three genres (body-building elite military personnel, sci-fi, and unapologetic/unorthodox violence). And then there's the idea that movies of that time didn't NEED to be perfect, they just needed a good premise. Predator delivered.

It's a comic-book brought to life. The colorful characters, exaggerated action-scenes and sci-fi monster were done perfectly, while other films are complete "marks" with taking it seriously. It could be a Sgt. Fury comic.

I loved Predator. The tension, the atmosphere. The predator. Everything was amazing. It may have taken some time to take on steam, but it's worth it. Predator 2 was great too, though some stuff just didn't feel right. I hated the voodoo nonsense, for example. The ending however was absolutely legendary and still worth loads of applause. I was surprised there never was a real Predator III. AvP was okay in it's own, but it missed certain 'atmosphere', and by that, it was just 'floating' somewhere. AVP2 was just not worth even the thought, and is one of the movies that should be erased from history. Now for Predators, i actually REALLY liked that movie. Yes it kinda ripped off on the original, but still, it felt done pretty solid, including beating the preds. I still feel really uncomfortable watching the scene were the 'serial killer' got his spine and skull ripped out. that was gore disgusting to the chills and graphic. As for 'The Predator' by shane black, i HATED the movie. It was STUPID in every sense, it had no tense, it made no sense, and absolutely trashed a franchise and movie that SHOULD and COULD have been a great return.

Critics are a determinent to the filmmaking industry and they have never been relevant and they have never mattered. @@the-NightStar "They're always wrong" The problem with most critics is that they consume a lot more cinema than your normal audience member by at least one order of magnitude. Now take Hollywood's tendency to jump on trends without understanding them (Cinematic Universes, anyone?) and you end up with a lot of mediocre similar movies. Any normal person is going to get tired of eating the same thing over and over again. And what results is that critics develop movie tastes that tend to deviate from the mainstream public. Yet, by reason of their job description, they are forced to give their opinion on media they feel they've seen before.

Despite all of it's filming issues, Predator is still one of the best action movies EVER MADE! Not just from the 80's. In my opinion, Predator and Predators are the best movies in the franchise. Adrien Brody did a surprisingly excellent job in the lead role, despite not really being an action star, or being very muscular. I could never get into Predator 2, because we're supposed to believe that Danny "I'm getting too old for this shit" Glover could kill a Predator. He could barely even run in the movie, so no way in hell could he kill a predator. He should never have been cast in that role. The Alien Vs Predator movies are okay. Not horrible like some people say, but not great either. AVP is the better movie, although Requiem has the best xenomorph design from the series. The Predalien was awesome! These movies make no sense now though, since Fox shit all over both franchises with the dumbass direction they took in Prometheus. Fox were horrible at making movies that were consistent to each other, as also proven with the X-Men movies. Thank God Disney bought out Fox before they could make the next Alien movie explaining that they can timetravel, and that's why whey were created around 2104 but were bred & hunted by Predators in the time of the Eqyptians... Finally, we come to the Predator... this should have been a great movie, but it's not. I didn't really care for the lead, and I don't really like Olivia Munn, although I'll admit that she did a great job in the role. But the story is really, really dumb. I don't want to nitpick it, so I'll just say that it makes very little sense, and things just happen, without there being an actual reason why they happen. While I can understand why Arnold hasn't wanted to return in the later Predator movies, he's been in every Terminator movie, and they've all been... disappointing... after Terminator 2, so it doesn't make much sense he'll be in all the shitty Terminator movies, but not the shitty Predator movies. Making Predator must have just been a worse experience for him than he will admit, I guess.

Couple of fun facts about movie shooting : Before it was even shoot , every actor had to go to the boot camp, expect the Jesse Ventura who was a Navy Frogman aka Navy Seal. The whole cast was falling from exhaustion down in Mexico, but not Jesse who got used to this kind of climate in Vitenam. You know you are a certified badass when you have more combat experience than weapon instructor. Here is another one from Jesse Ventura himself : Jesse in his interview mentioned that he loved to play mindgames with Arnold by showing up 10 mins before him in the gym, and Jesse would just damp his t-shirt in the water so It would look like he was there from 5AM. When Arnold saw Jesse before him in the gym, he started getting up at 4:30AM.

From what I’ve heard, Van Damme intentionally got himself fired because Bloodsport FINALLY got green lit after years of trying. But his Predator schedule meant he couldn’t take the role of Dux, so he got himself fired from this so he could do Bloodsport. And he was right because it launched his own career.

I'd say the same thing that happened to the Terminator Franchise happened to this franchise. 1st and 2nd terminators were amazing but anything from the 3rd on was really bad, and the same thing happened to Predator with the exception of only the first movie was amazing, from the second one on the franchise kept downgrading. It does not have much to do with this video but I just laid it here.

The reason why people prefer living in the 80's & 90's is because things back then was pretty simplistic. The economy was good & society was good. No technology/social media influence, no kids committing crimes. Yes! folks who lived in the 80's and 90's did dreamed of what the 2000's is going be like, However! nobody expected the 2000's to go into a Terrible Direction like having a Pandemic, Social Media Influence, Kids committing crimes, Society & The Economy going downhill. No wonder i hear people in 2023/2024 saying "I wish we can go back to the 80's or 90's. Back then, Society & The Economy was good. Things were working well without Technology/Social Media". For those who were born in the 2000's, The reason why they are saying things like this is because back then No one and I mean no one did not expect the 2000's to go into a completely terrible direction that it did. This explains why people talk about wishing they can go back to the 80's & 90's.
