Not sure what you mean by engine? But a new opener retail (not from a wholesaler/distributor) is around $200. From a wholesaler even less. So he made $550 gross profit. Not sure what marketing costs are but it’s always safe to assume 10% of total customer cost. So conservatively dude walked away with $425 - $475 net profit. Not bad…
