The timing and alignment of your podcasts flawlessly synchronize to my life. The ups. The downs. The cloudy gray days where I stand at the end of a path with 7 possible directions I could embark. Dinggg. New video from Jocko!. Just yesterday a new set back had been applied to my life, and composition notebook filled with task's needing my attention. I'd just need you and echo to know that I am and forever will be forever grateful for every bit of content you share with me. I know I'm not the only one out there that can second this. Thank you guys!

oh man Jocko is soooo right about leadership. Don't come off an airhead or know it all to subs, work with your subs (practice what you preach, give them their breaks and your ear), communicate with them (discuss their takes and yours), and from me, always use humour (it alyways breaks up the tension for me).

This brought me back to the summer I outgrew my life vest, I didn't understand why it didn't fit anymore, and when I exited the shed , I asked my father " why can't I zip it up Dad?" And He said " you can learn to swim without it except when we're in the ocean". I said " will I get a new one?" And he said " maybe in time, but you might outgrow that one too.." I said but Dad time goes fast and it's getting faster" ( I really wanted a new vest, mine was stinky and rough) and he said " think of time at my age it gets even faster I blink and its like a hurtling rocket just getting faster" I remember blinking fast in the sun imagining what he said. I remember thinking " is that what makes him smokes ciggarettes? Maybe I was on to something. But it made me picture him hurtling through space smoking Winston's no space suit or life jacket required. He only permitted future thinking, on his terms and that was fast forward.

Jocko's "weird way of looking at the world... similar to the everything happens for a reason thing" he starts describing at 54:30 occurred to me as well yesterday. I decided that the trouble finding a new job and the bullshit employers and recruiters were throwing my way was just a bone that was being thrown to me - the universe saying "nah, it's time to go invest in yourself ". The problem is that sometimes these clues are by no means a guaranteed to be a smart/solid decision.

It's worth noting that the guy with epilepsy could possibly get a medical waiver depending on what branch he joins and what job he goes for. Standards and waivers are how the military negotiates with the public to fill manpower needs. So the more difficult it is to get people to fill a certain job, the more likely they are to grant waivers for people to do that job.

Hey Jocko, I don't know if people send you Q&A here but I'm in a predicament. My niece is 7 years old, and she has a weight problem. She eats pancakes, waffles, candy, plain simply...junk. My family doesn't do much, my sister and my brother-in-law don't discipline her enough. And I'm worried. My wife and I tried to get her to eat healthy when she comes over. And she complains. I explain to her that we want what's best but won't come over anymore. Both of her parents smoke, they don't eat healthy except once in awhile, salads. And her father is diabetic. I don't know what I'm going to do, and I'm nervous. She does play some sports, but quits soon after. What in the world am I to do? I'm frustrated.

Surf Skydive I recommend you study Stoicism specifically Marcus Aurelius,”Say to yourself in the early morning: I shall meet today inquisitive, ungrateful, violent, treacherous, envious, uncharitable men. All these things have come upon them through ignorance of real good and ill.” I had to ‘brain wash’ myself into knowing that not all 7.7 billion Earthlings are as privileged as me (because *we* *both* aren’t unsocialized cunts, presumably)? It’s going to take practice to be able to feel compassion for people during and after their unsavory, barbaric behaviors 👌💝🙏

Life is not a rehearsal! find what you love, Calculate the risks and benefits carefully first, bet your life, then roll the fuckin dice and dive in! just be careful what you wish for, it might come true. it seems failure is a big part of life, but you learn what doesn't work , try another way. its a numbers game, you have 100 experiments, 99 fail, one succeeds, it is still a success even though you failed 99 times. Hey Jocko, I'm awake all night long, getting after it so early that you and Mark Wahlburg are still asleep.

oh Jocko.. you bully under control... how I hate your cunning advice on dychotomy this and balance that. if people were just being more nice and less psychopatic towards each other nobody would even send these questions. you cant teach basically a good human being to survive in these sick enviroments by telling them to play the game. they dont know the game. game is imvented by psychos. only thing you can do is to remove yourself from such people. the reason why you get it and it comes easy is because you are foxy by nature. averege man cant comprehand even this, not to mention kill in war.
