“Remember that death is lighter than a feather. But duty is heavier than a mountain.” Feathers flew in great numbers. The mountain proved too heavy. They were held off by a determined battalion of MARINES.
@Lucoms8 ай бұрын
I think there’s an Asian proverb that is almost exactly the same. Death can be light as a feather or heavy as a mountain.

Just to comment on the Sea Bees. …. I was serving as an infantry Marine during peace time in the late 90s in Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii. We were tasked to be “aggressors” for a training exercise in mount town on Schofield Barracks, an army base on Oahu. So basically we would perform raids on the Sea Bees, mimicking what we thought enemy forces would do. Those guys were solid dudes. They didn’t stand a chance against our persistent assaults, but they were quick learners and, by the end of the exercise, they were wired much tighter than the beginning. Just wanted to give props to the Sea Bees.

Something Task Force Cruiser was not!!!!! Jocko is fooling you all, he was not a good leader. He is responsible for a lot of unnecessary deaths. A lot of Marines died due to the failures of Jocko, Leif, Chris Kyle, etc…

He needs to get Eric demming on and aggressively attack the accusations face to face instead of passive aggressively drop hints on who it was who spilled the beans on him
@JHopkins8 ай бұрын
He already addressed the accusations and pointed out the central one was a lie. Why on earth would he have the guy on and give him attention?
@elpanchosancho28 ай бұрын
@@JHopkins because jackoo preaches "extreme ownership" and doesn't practice what he preaches. If he was really about it he would bring the dude on and dismantle him for everyone to hear. Instead he passive aggressively tip toes over the subject. Also be claims the leadership wouldn't allow that to happen which is bullshit. Look what happened to team 7 when they got kicked out of Iraq

Seeking tech sales career advice (I know a lot of sales guys watch this podcast so I thought "where better to ask?"): I'm a junior data engineer pondering a shift to tech sales. Friends and colleagues think I've got what it takes. But I'm torn. Is it wise to invest more time in data engineering for stability? Then I could explore sales roles later. My main worry is hitting 30 soon. Still, I believe the right opportunity is worth the wait. Your thoughts are welcome.

....just hit me, you are lucky Jocko to have Echocharles.....being prior Navy from Desert Storm as an Electronic Warfare tech on Aegis cruiser.....spent 26 years with wife and got to a point as you experience civilian life, then bring up something from your military career - she is done with the stories some years ago. Nice to have someone who is across and truely interested in what you have to offer. Oh well - she's hot so I really don't care. Strength and honor gentleman.
I get where Echo's coming from, BUT, I wish you non-Italians would try to pronounce the most basic words properly. When I hear, "Mary-nara" instead of Marinara, or the way you people say, "mozzarella", makes me crazy on the inside. TRY, PEOPLE! TRY!
