After listening to this, I can completely understand Freya Willink's "Having Jocko as a dad is not easy," statement. On the flip side, my parents were the exact opposite of Jocko. It's been a struggle to become a self-starting, motivated individual when there were no role models in life. Most days are a moderate success, whilst others are dismal failures. The struggle continues.

Anyone can dream or have a goal but the problem is humans don’t consider what it takes to achieve the goal. The day to day grind of what it takes to achieve the goal. Agree, write down each and every step of the process to accomplish the goal.

My dream is to sit down with Jocko and pick his brain. It’s very hard to comprehend the amount of wisdom he’s obtained throughout his life. Even crazier that he’s able to communicate that wisdom as proficiently as he does time and time again. There is no way to measure the impact you’ve made in this world Jocko!

Huh, it's Jan. 24 th and I'm just getting started. Kidding, make a habit, it takes time and you need to do a love or a like. Missing out on life especially if your ill, it takes much more time. Discouragement from a chronic illness is the biggest of detours.

I would say most of the time, no. Our military can do good, helpful things. In reality, we mostly just control geopolitics by having a massive military apparatus. Not our fault though.

Great episode! This is very helpful and great timing as I'm sure like you said, the average person is quitting or has quit on their goals by now for the year. One thing I wanted to point out that was throwing me off was that the lizard or reptilian part of the brain is associated with the brainstem and cerebellum which is basic movements and breathing. The monkey part of our brains is where we would find the resistance against challenging tasks, to avoid discomfort which is the limbic system and amygdala. Also I would add, the human part of the brain, the prefrontal cortex is also a major contributing factor as to why we don't do what we are suppose to do. This part of the brain is responsible for decision making, self-control, problem solving, planning, and integration of information for complex tasks. Thank you Jocko has always! 💪🧠

Not is socialism, where subversion is all the cia preoccupies it’s counterparts. The cia’s job is to make the ladder choice seem just as rewarding without the benigne of hindsight, resulting in dissillusion and dissollution. This is how presidential elections become predetermined undermining due process.

Last year I had to end up walking on the shitty streets of Phoenix one night, I must've went through like 20 miles of Phoenix ghetto. I had a gun and knives pulled on me by gangbangers of various races, so it's not racist. I had my own knife too and got them both to back down I'll just say that. And that wasn't even the last thing that had happened that night. I also did a self-investigation into possible human trafficking based on what I saw there. Don't mean to say nothing by it but that was like fucken street batman.

Goals interrupted: work around interruptions and this will make you more agile in different ways. Dog or cat is getting in the way of your push ups? Make use out of this by holding your pushups in pause to work on isolation with push ups. Or put it in a room where it can’t interfere and accidentally get hit with a kettlebell!
