​@@gdesiree29 Well.... technically Ursula took her voice because it's the ONLY thing Eric knows about the girl who saved him. If she took something else, Eric would have instantly recognized Ariel the moment she spoke, and they would have kissed, possibly on day one. So taking Ariel's voice was meant to be a great disadvantage disguise as a price for the legs. Not because Ursula wanted the voice for herself.

I absolutely LOVE how Jodi is so supportive of Halle. Both of their versions of the song are equally amazing, and I love how they're different. I definitely cried listening to Halle's because of how beautiful her voice is as well as the nostalgia. I was skeptical of this movie at first cause I'm not a fan of Disney remakes, but after hearing Halle's version of this song I'm beyond excited. I know I'll be a mess in the theater!

My hubby and I took our 7 year old to go see this film and it was even more magical than I remember seeing the original growing up. I am so glad I got to experience my daughter's joy as I watched her eyes light up & groove in seat during the songs! ❤❤❤ She loves the original and she loves this new version just as much (possibly a bit more...) Halle actually made me want to watch the little mermaid for the first time in my 41 yrs. I had never watched the movie as a kid, honestly just didn’t appeal to me as a kid, but after watching her perform the song, I cried and I cry every time I hear her sing it. That is why I’m going to see the live action version on the 26th. She’s stunning her voice is stunning and there couldn’t have been better choice for ariel😍
