She never said that she was sorry! She only said that she dearly loves the children. She is the sickest woman I know of. Unbelievable…she is trying to be some kind of hero by not going to trial. I’m sure her trial will be behind bars, the prisoners usually take care of child abusers.

And I guarantee you she told them this was all done in love. It’s religion that tells parents if they spare the rod they spoil the child and that if you don’t beat your kids you don’t love them. Of course they did more than that but that is where it all starts. The Weak minded congregation follows the sadistic power hungry religious leaders.

Her statement should be the reason to keep her behind bars and never see the outside of prison. "I sincerely love these children." If starving, kidnapping, terrorizing and torturing children is what she considers love. Then she doesn't comprehend the gravity of the abuse she inflected upon these children. Starting out a statement with how SHE feels. Shows the true psychopathic monsters she is inside.

And Kevin, stop bobbing your head up and down like a total loser. He is also culpable. Unfortunately his part is just a hair below legal prosecution. 60 years is the max. Sentencing works a little odd in Utah where the sentence is actually determined by the state parole board and not the court. She must serve a minimum of 4 years before the parole board determines when she becomes eligible for a hearing (not parole, just a hearing to determine if she should be granted parole), but no more than 60 years.

I would have thought they would have served 1 year and a parole board would have met to determine whether they would have been paroled on that charge , if not they would have served time till another board paroled them, then the second sentence would have begun and served till a subsequent parole board paroled them, then the third sentence would just Have begun with a subequent parole board making a decision as to their parole, at which time their fourth sentence would have begun, to be served until a subsequent parole board paroled them. To my mind that is what consecutive sentences mean, not lumping all four sentences together, which in my understanding would be concurrent if each charge is not treated separately, the second and subsequent beginning after the first is finished….

I do believe that Evie & Russell endured the worst of it while experiencing the worst betrayal of all from a Mom they sadly realized they couldn’t trust. I don’t believe Jodie can be rehabilitated simply due to the fact that she doesn’t think she’s done anything wrong. I also suspect she’s a psychopath. She loved the children?? I'd hate to see what she'd do to children she doesn't like. The only reason there is no trial is because she doesn't want Everything she did to people to come out. She doesn't want it to be known exactly what kind of monster she is.

Her and her attorney are full of it. I don't believe anything they say. She needs the MAX sentence the state can give - 30 years. Her prison life will be harsh due to her crimes against Children. She needs a complete psychological change.

Because they're kids and it's best for them to remain as far away from this entire situation as possible. That's why it's good that by Jodi and Ruby pleading guilty, the children didn't have to appear in court.

I don't uderstand....Consecutive sentences of 1 to 15 years on each count??? Does that mean that the two abusers can potentially get out in four years???? Make this make sense please. I am truly hopeful they serve 15 years consecutively for each count a piece. Life in prison for each of these women would be justice, regardless of the tearful, long thought our speech. I am certain Auschwitz guards felt they didn't deserve life for the heinous...for lack of a more destructive word....sentence.

@@lynnefechney9852: that would be concurrent sentences in my opinion. I think they will hild her until they think she can safely be released on Count 1 taking into consideration all the factors they consider and when she is paroled on that charge she will begin her semtence in the second charge, a parole board will meet and she will either be paroled on that charge or kept locked up until some subsequent parole board decides to parole her; then the third sentence will begin and she will have to wait for another parole board to release her on parole, but the count 6 charge will then begin and she will have to serve time until another parole board meets and decides to parole her, and they may keep her on parole for some years. At least that’s the way I understand it to work.
