She's probably the best actor of the last 100 years & I'm sure she'd not agree. She's a really good director. I've really enjoyed each film I've seen she directed and I've probably seen all her movies that are out for the public & not one is bad. I have some personal favorites for different reasons. Nell for example is a great movie and really difficult for any actor to pull that off but she did it with perfection. Panic Room is one of those movies that takes place just in a condo like Flight Plan on a plane so it takes some really good acting to pull those kinds of films off and she did both to perfection and everyone in the films with her were fantastic too. That's another thing; she works with really great actors. Silence of the Lambs is the favorite of many and I loved it and can see why she didn't do the follow up although it would have been a success had she done it. For someone who grew up in the public eye & as crazy as media is today blending in with things it shouldn't, perhaps her bravest moments are when she gives a little details of her private life because after all, her mind and being is in her films and to her it has to seem as if she has very little privacy so she would hold that dear so giving out bits of info like some we all knew but some just had to hear her say about her romantic life had to be a little stressful to her. I think it's time we give celebrities real privacy. They are out there on the screen and in interviews so isn't that enough for us? No one here would like it if a hidden cam was following them around their house during very private moments. I attended acting school, did the modeling and all that but I agree with Jodie, it's really not something to encourage on kids. Sure, can be big money for a few but you give up so much more than is realized imo. Long, insane hours then downtime not knowing if you get another part then worry about where you can go and when without being spotted and people demanding you sign something or bother you while you're eating at a restaurant.

Also, your site is shit! homosexuality can't be changed or cured, because guess what, it's not a disease..Omg i cant believe that in 2014 there are still people who can't get over this

Am_hustle05 Meryl is a good actress, great, not so sure. She speaks to her generation but not across generations. JF, truly gifted and speaks across time and age.
@am_hustle051510 жыл бұрын
***** You can't compare Meryl with Jodie, two different planets. Meryl can be anything and she gives everything to the character she's interpreting, she's vulnerable but at the same time she can be strong and powerful, she's true and honest. I wish Foster had the gift of vulnerability but in fact she doesn't. I only saw her like that in "Nell", and I think she should have definitely got an oscar for it because you could see it was not easy for her. She set a higher bar there but never got to repeat it again. In terms of acting I think she's "selfish" and coy because she tends to create a barrier between the character she's interpreting and her inner emotions. And you can see this in almost every movie after Nell..and frankly I do not understand how people can't go beyond appearances and see how tense she is inside

I adore Jodie Foster. Prodigiously talented and versatile, yet centered and grounded as a human being. I love most of her work (Somersby and Elysium excepted) but I love her few forays into comedy. "Maverick" cracks me up every time, but I love the serious stuff too, "The Brave One," "Accused," and "Contact," are stand out films, where she basically acts the pants off everyone around her and probably forces others to up their games, just to keep up with her!

little man tate was a terrific film...i highly recommend it...directors get way too much credit....writers, cinematographers, editors are the real unsung heroes who get too little credit when a film succeeds...i have worked on major films where the director did little if not anything...a great director cannot make a bad film great...but there have been great films directed by bad directors...the other members of the crew rose to the occasion...

@mhikl448410 жыл бұрын
absoftitanium Abs, anyone who ‘likes’ Reagan does not understand how he destroyed America (US) and opportunity for the majority of citizens. Then Clinton (sadly loved) completed Reagan’s assault, and thus poverty is becoming the majority in that beleaguered country. Minimum wages from the forties to the end of the seventies were true living wages that actually could support a family with two children, four in total. Now, thanks to Reagan (remember trickle down) and cemented by Clinton (in desperation for a second election win), it gets you a simple basement suit for one, some food and transport to and from work. And a little more for a few other necessities and little beyond. Seven dollars an hour. Existence wage that is-not enough for family life and what could be got from the Roosevelt legacy. Sad. The assault continues on the wages of the middle class. Namaste and care, mhikl
