Fall at the off grid cabin is absolutely wonderful. There is not another place I would rather spend my time.
Slowly but surely we are looking to turn to off-the-grid solutions for power and waste. We would like to grow as composters and gardeners. For now though, our focus is still on the cabin building process. Thank you for joining us.

My buddy did this he always lured me in " hey wanna hang out and bbq" always ended up working my ass off on my day off real nice after putting 60 hrs in refinery I know it sounds bad but after a while I gave him I'm busy response so be careful on people that help there going to say yes to be nice but they don't have the same reward that you do for mind set your finishing a dream, they are building "yours" it's nice to help sometimes but this is really a commitment and very hard work and something you should be ready and able to do it on your own

Love the fireplace floor. I'm wondering if a medium or light colored slate may be an attractive trim. A smooth and sutle contrast is the goal. ty for sharing!

Cement needs to dry a little before you scrape n brush it, or...lol it smears up. 🙂👍 Next time, grout it in, ..let it set up 20 minutes or more, ..then tool it, let set little more, cut off extra morter, brush it n tool it again.

Very pretty. Thanks for the ideas guys. Maybe I'll change my wood stove landing eventually. We have so much nice flat pieces of granite around our property. I think that would look great but never really knew where to begin! This helps! :)

We received all of our granite pieces for free. They are scraps from a countertop producer. Might be worth looking into’

Hello ,just came across your KZbin channel and love the cabin. I’ve always wanted to do something like this . I have a question? I seen the build vlog and I was wondering about the roof build . Are you guys concerned about the weight of the snow that sits on the roof and how did you come up with how much weight can the joists handle ? I think out of all of it this would be the one part I know nothing about lol .
