This was Alex's first US interview, so he probably didn't know what to expect. He is much more comfortable in interviews now. Although I didn't think he was really uncomfortable. He was genuinely funny in certain parts and looked like he thought Regis was funny in some parts. Regis and Kelly just kept interrupting and distracting him, so he had to re-group his thoughts.

No I did not find the interview awkward, he is Swedish & this is how they are, he has a dry humour & takes his time answering questions, my parents lived for like 10 years in Stockholm & it is very laid back & just like Alex is here. He is funny sweet & I love his overbite so cuteeee! He made Kelly all confused when he said he would bite her & it would be special! haha

I think he lived in Sweden until he was 19 or something. Then moved around a bit, doing military service and studying abroad.

@nicolexamstutz Alex has become his American nickname. It is a very common short form of Alexander. I'm sure he is used to it by now. His family may call him something entirely different. Even the TB cast and crew may call him something different. I once heard Kristin Bauer refer to him as Al.

@nicolexamstutz Actually, in Sweden, it''s very common that you refer to people by their nickname. I'm Swedish and I know people who have never, not even once, referred to me by my real name. Even people I'm not too familiar with. In Sweden, calling someone by their nickname is a sign of trust and comfort, which reflects friendly behaviors. Calling someone by their formal names is more out of respect and formal behavior, like doctors/Dentist och in-laws. :-)
