From what I see looking for who wrote this song, it appears to be Coco Montoya....another fantastic blues guitarist ....Ronnie Earl's version is fantastic too :)

@@deanross7426 I hadn't heard the Coco Montoya version before, but I'm listening right now, and it's great too. The original is from Ronnie Earl's album Peace of Mind from 1990, while the Coco Montoya version is from his album Hard Truth in 2017.

@M._Lou Жыл бұрын
@@Dmichel123... Yes, it is a Ronnie Earl tune, but nobody is ripping anybody off. All bands play covers occasionally. The commenters didn’t know where the song came from, and they made a guess, but that has nothing to do with Joe or his band. No need to come down hard on Joe for that….that’s not fair at all.

This was always a favorite from Ronnie Earl and the Broadcasters!! If you are not familiar with Ronnie, dig deep. Ronnie played with Roomful of Blues and then moved onto the Broadcasters. His style is exquisite. His 80's albums are gems, check out Test of Time. His later music has a much more jazz influence and is exceptional. Joe has done a fabulous job with this! Best wishes!!

It seemed to be a studio recording dubbed over the live performance. I heard a sax playing while watching what appeared to be a ripping guitar solo, and sax player nowhere to be seen. I would have much rather have heard the live performance I was seeing. Even Joe's solos seemed kind of subdued and out of sync with the track.

@@sonyanikolskaya8864... -------------- Dear Sonya, So good to hear from you! Yes, this is a wonderful song, bound to make any lady in the audience sigh with happiness. I don't think blues music always needs to have sad messages. Have you noticed that there are many more women commenters than there used to be? When I first began commenting a few years ago, his fans were mostly men. Not necessarily so anymore. Lately Joe shows a lot more depth of emotion in his performances, which makes him more approachable and appealing to women. I'm not sure what causes my perception of that, as I'm sure he is no more vulnerable than he ever was, but a new dimension to his performances is definitely emerging.

@@M._Lou Я на днях открыла для себя гениальную американскую поэтессу - Эдну Сент-Винсент Миллей (Edna St. Vincent Millay). Читала её в прекрасном переводе. Здесь, для тебя Лу, оставляю оригинал: Sonnet XLII What lips my lips have kissed, and where, and why, I have forgotten, and what arms have lain Under my head till morning; but the rain Is full of ghosts tonight, that tap and sigh Upon the glass and listen for reply, And in my heart there stirs a quiet pain For unremembered lads that not again Will turn to me at midnight with a cry. Thus in winter stands the lonely tree, Nor knows what birds have vanished one by one, Yet knows its boughs more silent than before: I cannot say what loves have come and gone, I only know that summer sang in me A little while, that in me sings no more.
