Joe's guitar skills are phenomenal, we all know that. Joe's VOICE has matured over the years we've heard it. Personally I've loved it at every stage but I must say NOW I look just a forward to his voice as I do guitar. Now he seems to have that very "unique" full on blues mans voice. It strong and versatile and sends chills down the spine. He just gets better and better and I'm baffled that it's possible it keeps happening! I listen to his entire catalog and it all strikes a cord with me. I respect him so much as a man, that he and Roy figured out how to pave this new way of music business and are now fostering other people via ktba records and now management. Humble and self awareness not seen in many these days! Great interview! ❤

What I like about Joe is how much he genuinely loves the ride he’s on. He’s a tour guide for all of us through the history of blues and guitars. It’s because of Joe that I now use my volume and tone controls on all my guitars instead of just rolling it all to 10!

Joe's description of how he came to the blues through London is the EXACT same path I took. Growing up in Illinois 120 miles South of Chicago as a child I never knew the blues Mecca was just North of me. I had an older brother who turned me on to the blues back in the 60's through John Mayall, Eric Clapton, The Rolling Stones, etc. It made me seek out the masters and learn where this style of music came from. A couple of trips to the Chicago Blues Festival a few years later and I was hooked for life. I'm 68 now and still support the blues through going to live events, buying "albums", etc. Can't wait for The Tampa Bay Blues Festival in April. One of my favorite events.

From UK, growing up in 80's with influence of Zepp, Blues, later Gary Moore etc, and a Drummer in to Jazz and blues rock JOE hits it spot on for me with the old icons, his music is pumped out all the time, Lockdown for musicians was hard and JOE done a lot for musicians in that time. Epic Guitarist of the greats.

he doesn't say he will quit making music or release music. He says that he most likely will stop making albums. That is bad enough, I think since I'm the type of listener that listen to albums, not individual songs.

What a great interview. Joe's been doing a lot of them lately and I'm finding out I like him more and more as a person instead of just my favorite player of all time. I'm an old goat, and growing up in Chitown, I saw and met many of the icons over the decades. Joe reminds me a lot of BB. So down to earth and honest. Additionally, I think he's aged like the best vintage (82) 1st Growth Bordeaux's. His playing and singing are better than ever. To me he's the ultimate professional. I wear Bonamassa shirts almost daily, very proudly. I don't know who the interviewer is, but a huge tip of the cap to him, outstanding questions. Thanks for the share

I’m pretty sure most of your fans, including future ones, are and will continue to be Album listeners. I certainly am. I don’t subscribe to any music channel or online streaming service. When I learn of a new production from Joe, I order the CD (usually from Amazon). I then rip every track to my home library and to every device I own. And I always listen to complete albums. I almost think of an album as a song, I guess you could say. And I buy every live performance DVD/Blu-ray he performs on (ie also Black Country Communion) In fact, those video performances are my very favorite way to enjoy Joe’s music. IMO dramatic video productions with actors are entirely unnecessary. I’d Much rather see The Man and his incredible supporting artists on stage. There is my feedback. BTW Joes Playing has improved with every album since New Day Yesterday and his singing has improved EXPONENTIALLY, during that time 😎🎩♠️💙

Although I am an avid Spotify user, I see how the musicians are getting ripped off with streaming. ButI have been returning to buying deluxe edition packages with 5.1 surround sound Blu-rays. And more recently the audiophile SACDs that run for $30 apiece but I am enjoying collecting high resolution audio all over again, and know that the money is going back to the artists. Really looking forward to hearing Joe and Black Country Communion again next year.

i was a kid on long island at a cancer foundation benefit show, parking cars. i was about 12 and wanted a puppy, they were selling. people i was there with said no way. I sat up on the stage on the piano bench alone pissed off. then the show started. count basie came out on stage and sat next to me on the piano bench. never asked me why i was there or to leave. he played his set like it was my dad sittin next to me at the piano. i enjoyed the show, but didnt realize how lucky i was till years later. lucky to grow up in westbury NY. im 70 now but we had some big names come out of nassau county. Im in chicago since the late 70s, it cant compare

I saw Joe when he opened up for Johnny Lang at HOB in Vegas some time in the eraly 2000's. I was completely blown away. He should've been headlining that. Johnny is okay, but looked silly after Joe tore it up. I bought all of his stuff including the Blues Deluxe CD. This Blues Deluxe 2 is nowhere close to as good. The raw intensity of the first one was the best work he's ever done in my opinion. This new one is more of the super polished not as edgy productions he's been generating for quite a while now. There's a reason the first one really kicked off his career.

HI JOE, ( IM USING CAPS TO GET YOUR ATTENTION, NOT TO "YELL" ) I HAVE SENT YOU THIS MESSAGE OVER THE PAST TWO YEARS A FEW DIFFERENT TIMES, AND I NEVER HEARD BACK FROM YOU OR ANY OF YOUR TEAM. I AM TRYING TO REACH OUT TO YOU WITH AN OPPORTUNITY TO TALK SERIOUSLY ABOUT BRINGING BACK THE RECORD AND MUSIC INDUSTRY! YOU HAVE A LOT OF CONNECTIONS AND I BELIEVE, FROM LISTENING TO YOU IN LIVE INTERVIEWS, WATCHING THOSE INTERVIEWS HERE ON VIDEO, THAT YOU ARE SINCERELY PASSIONATE ABOUT WANTING TO FIND A SOLUTION TO THIS MUSIC, RECORDING AND JUST ALL AROUND MUSICAL FUNCTION, AS IT PERTAINS TO MUSICIANS AND THE PEOPLE WHO LOVE AND NEED MUSIC IN THEIR LIVES EVERYDAY, AND HOW TO TURN IT ALL BACK TO A SENSIBLE, PRODUCTIVE FOR ALL, OPERATION. I HAVE THE ANSWERS TO THOSE QUESTIONS! IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO TALK MORE WITH ME ABOUT ALL OF THIS? GET BACK TO ME, AND WE WILL DO THAT...... THANK YOU

It's sad the development of the music/record business. I know I'm old but I don't listen to singles, never did. I'm an album guy. I put on an album and enjoy. Don't listen to "best of"-compilations or singles, I don't get it. It's the return of the search for wanting every song to be a hit like back in the 50s and 60s. When every song is designed to be a hit to attract listeners; what happens to all the songs that require more time to fall in love with?

Raise 1 million dollars for other musicians and gave out 400 $1500 packets (= $600,000). That's great but what happened to the other $400,000? Joe was born to do this but it took a lot of hard work and a little luck. I don't care how good you are, not everybody makes it in the music business. I know struggling full time musicians. I have one friend that just recorded a new album and is working on a comeback @ 50. But you can do that in the blues if you have something to say that people want to hear it. Joe has a lot to say, his conversation through the guitar and his voice are getting better all the time. He's no BB King. But he is Joe Bonamassa!
