Back in the early 1970’s Jazz Fest was free, it wasn’t super big like it is now but it sure was cool to attend and the people were super nice.

He's a must see for sure. In all honesty I never thought anything would ever top the night the wife and I were able to go to a BB King and Bobby Bland show back in 77-78 is a really cool but small venue. We went and saw JB with his old band at The Chicago Theater. We had 11th row center left seats. I could see JB's fretting hand like he was next to me. I got goose bumps they were so good. Sadly, Reese was off that night as he was being inducted into the Music HOF that evening. It topped the BB and Bobby show by a slight notch for us. I know that sounds almost criminal, but JB is magical. It was hard to miss the training JB got under BB. I think that's where his business like approach and showmanship comes from. BB taught the kid very well. BB and Bobby do get the edge for telling some really awesome and funny stories that night. We're talking historical for us young kids at that time. Idols forever. Glad JB is carrying their torch forward.

It's amazing to see how much influence Josh has had on Joe. The tell tale Josh Smith signature sound is that rotary deal. Josh worked on getting it just perfect and to his exact liking and then made it a thing. Joe picked it up and uses it more and more. It's pretty dang cool when not over used. I'm a huge (literally) JB fan and historian. I honestly think this might be his best band ever. At first when Michael passed on I thought I'd never be able to hear a player of his greatness again, but here we are. When Bogie left, I said to myself, no way Anton fills this kid's shoes. Boom, Anton was right there and maybe even a notch better. Then, Anton leaves and I'm all kinda frustrated. This newest drummer is easily Joe's best yet. This combination of players and vocalists is magical. Any time Jade's on the dance card, you know you're in for an amazing show. Her voice, her smile, her moves are all just as good as I've ever seen. The fact that she's so gorgeous is just a bonus for the eyes. She's a gigantic talent. Hat's off to Joe for once again, getting everything right, yet again. Cheers Team J&R. The gift that keeps on giving.

Bonamassa trying to recreate the Warren Haynes duel where Bonamassa was the guest. And this isn't the first time he's tried to. But each time I've seen him perform this, it doesn't compare to that of Warren Haynes' version. The fluency of guitar aint there with Joe. One of the world's best. But got no gas.
