I got a figured top ES-335 just by doing Uber. If you have kids, then there's plenty of other great alternatives at other price points. Free time can be money, the gig economy jobs are honestly at their best when used with that mentality. It got me the guitar I dreamed of having since I was 10.

The '59 gets a lot of love, but to me(and a few others), the 1960 Les Pauls are the coolest. The variations in "sunbursts", the varied neck profiles, and really different tops. Bookmatched, Pinstripe, Flitchflame, burlish/quilty flame, the Cajun....

Are Gibson's affordable for most Americans?🤔

Not really. A Gibson standard goes from around $2,500 to $3,200 USA depending on finish. You can get the faded finish LP for $300 less, or a LP Studio fro around $1,600. I am an amateur and will stick with my PRS SE McCarty 594 Standard that I got on sale for $600. There are lots of good import LP copies from Epi, PRS and others under a $1,000 and they are great guitars.
