But on the song he's trying to please everyone though, that's the irony 😂😂....first he made Kendrick a villain when he dissed him on 7 minute drill. Then crowned Kendrick during his apology in the process leaving Drake out in the cold. Now when the battle is over he comes back and crowns Drake and suddenly makes us the audience the villains. He got no backbone bra. He just had to keep this verse out the song and apologise to Drake in private

@@interests357yeah completely agree. I don’t understand why so many of the fans are so blind to see what he did was very wrong on so many levels. He has flip flopped like crazy throughout all of this. Prior to the beef I had so much respect for him as an elite MC and a man but that’s all gone now. Spineless behaviour. I genuinely think only the hardcore fans understood the magnitude of what he did because they’ve been rocking with him for years. Most of the people championing his apology are casual or recents fans and didn’t have any expectations or standard for him. Kendrick accused Drake of so many things and picked apart his character and flaws, but I have more respect for Drake cause he stood on his words like a real man. Nobody forced cole to jump in the beef. He’s a grown man and sat on the response to the like that verse for weeks. So it was a conscious decision to release 7 min drill. He was also the one that constantly talked about the big three where clearly the other two didn’t feel the same about it.

Love the song, the sample and the hook/melodic elements of the rapping, however it’s an effort to seem “neutral” after collab’ing with Kendrick affliates, the 7MD apology and his feature run with artists in an active Drake feud. But the second verse comes out more as Cole defending and pitying an alleged pdf file, culture vulture and according to the Metro, The Weeknd and Future, a backstabber. Confusing tbh.

I agree with all of joes sentiments but in defense of Cole I don’t think he’s tryna defend drake, I just think he is spineless and doesn’t have any morals he stands for. He thinks he can be on everyone’s side but when taking the road of trying to please everyone you end up pleasing no one. He needs to be either stay out of it or pick a side and stand on it. I don’t trust mediators cause most of them believe their moral standing is higher than others. Soft? What is considered to be a hard man in your eyes joe? Turning your back on the one who fed you like Eminem? Does that qualify to be considered hard in the rap game? J Cole has been the same throughout the entirety of his career. He built his label and feeds his people he doesn't take bait or start drama he just inspires with divine purpose. Tired of ignorance being glorified in today's world. J Cole is the greatest rapper to do it. People are not taking the Port Antonio song for what it is. It's JCole's own take on what he felt about the Kendrick Drake beef. First verse is about his own upbringing. And as always JCole's delivery is second to none. Second verse is him being a humble man in his own lane speaking his own truth. Dope ass song hands down. Cole’s issue is he let his peers gas him up, according to Wayno, who said Dreamville members were saying “watchu gon do, Cole!?” There was no genuine basis for a Cole & Kendrick beef in the first place in comparison to Drake & Kendrick who had real friction. This is why “7-Minute Drill” seemed like an empty diss, and you could tell he did a response to appease the people online who love drama. You don’t need a beef to rap better than the next rapper. I hope we get another song from Cole & Kendrick with a verse each.

@@queezus9176 i agree he didn't help himself, but I think this is him trying to battle without the beef. I wouldn't be surprised if he and Kendrick had an agreement to postpone their battle until Kendrick was done eviscerating Drake. Kendrick didn't even go at Cole with the same energy he did for Drake. People are too quick to judge, love drama, and are bloodthirsty. They miss the nuance. Cole is not the type to talk about baby mamas or call someone a pedo. @@Optimism2K question, when Cole dropped 7 minute drill did you think the intention was for real beef or issues to be the result? One of the song’s biggest criticisms was that Cole didn’t do much dissing on the song because none of the shots were personal😂. Also, if that song was such a huge shot at Kendrick and was supposed to be seen as fuel for a real beef between the two, does that make Kendrick weak for not really dropping a response diss even though Cole encouraged him to do it? Genuinely I don’t get how you could look at what actually took place place between Kendrick and Drake and then blame Cole for not wanting to get involved with that once he saw the direction it was going 😂. Also if you do listen to Cole, then you hear all the props and respect he gives to “the big 3” 😂 and you also heard him pretty consistently say he’s not interested in faking beef to sell a product or gain clout. It’s fine to say you’re disappointed that Cole and Kendrick didn’t go back and forth with eachother in competition. 😅 that's why the world is rotten? Most people's opinions are that maybe....just maybe Cole shouldn't have responded at all

I don’t understand people’s issue with Cole. He’s cool with Drake and Kendrick. Kendrick is calling Drake a pedophile, and a dead beat father, while Drake is calling Kendrick a woman beater and his wife is getting smashed. How does Cole fit in that if he’s cool with both of them. He could have the best diss lyrically out of all of them but he doesn’t match their disrespect he doesn’t have a shot. So people want Cole to go that route just to win a battle? lol Makes no sense.

Honestly he could've stayed out of it. Or thrown a friendly jab and just kept it pushing. Now he has to backpedal and backtrack. If you claim you are the best and want to turn this whole thing into a competition, then you can't just back out after jumping in like that. It makes you look weak. He went on this feature run exalting himself as the best rapper alive, but when it was time to go against the best rappers he jumped in and then backed out. Should've let it stay between them. Nobody was looking for a cole response because we all knew how much K dot HATES Drake
