It has nothing to do with branding because Rory and Mal were able to build a team and have incredible success podcast in their first year. From views, live shows, Patreon, Quality (subjective of course). It’s important to know that Rory helped Joe with the podcast from the very beginning.

I won't lie I had stopped watching the podcast a few episodes before the Rory and Mal fallout because I felt like the other two were riding on Joe's coattails and did not have their own brand (life experiences outside the show) especially Mal he was on there pandering too much it was annoying, what I learnt was autonomy is important in the longevity of a podcast or you need to leverage the fact that you on a well-known podcast into some other business ventures
