Troy Aikman a few weeks ago compared Burrow to a surgeon. That is exactly what he is. He can shred a defense with such precision. The Montana comparisons are absolutely there. Nothing flashy but incredibly efficient and so clutch.

He is Montana II, he has Montana and Namath attitude, Peyton's knowledge, Marino's ability to avoid the rush while in the pocket. And he is by far the most fundamentally sound QB in the league. ALWAYS 2 hands on the ball. ALWAYS looking downfield for the open guy. ALWAYS reading the defense correctly and knowing where to go with the ball. The league better get used to the Bengals winning as long as he's a Bengal !

I’m a Ravens fan and I’m big on our defense since we got R. Smith, but without Lamar, it wouldn’t been hard to beat the Bengals in Cincinnati. Joe Burrow is an excellent quarterback with top-flight. Wide receivers? In a tight in Hayden Hurst was drafted by the Ravens. I hope Cincinnati go all the way, and we’ll see again next year hopefully Lamar will be signed.

Playing the Ravens back to back weeks prepped them for the run. The Ravens were gunning to win last week. I told a few Bills fans that the Ravens D with Raquon Smith was a much harder unit to face especially Bills without Von Miller and Hyde out. The Bengals play AFC North physicality with a cool under pressure stud of a QB. They have the best tackling defense in the league. While they aren't labeled elite. As a Bengals fan basically since birth (thanks Dad), we were pretty much a joke franchise my entire life. Even during the Palmer and Dalton days, we’d have a good season here and there but I think collectively fans knew it wouldn’t last. Now, still a supporter and resident, every Bengal fan can tell you how much the culture has changed and how it has impacted the city, even to those that pay little attention to football. We all feel something different and special. The Bengals made their point…again. They deserve to be respected by the league.

I've been a Monster Fan since 2001 and it's been in a rough road for the past 2 decades, with 0-7 in the playoffs. It is us this year. There is magic with the Bengals and it this trickles down to the city of Cincinnati (and beyond).

Context is important when explaining events that happen in the game. The reason the Bengals O line reserves weren't too bad was because: (1) Some of the reserves actually played during Cincy's SB run last year - they are battle-tested and more than ready for the playoffs this year. On top of that, those young draft picks had an additional regular season (this year) to get better while backing up the starters, not just in being in better physical condition, but in maturing and mentally processing the game better; (2) Some players are now playing in their natural positions. Example: Jackson Carmen got to play left tackle against Buffalo, a position he played while at Clemson, which he never got to play while at Cincinnati; (3) The run game flourished because the strength of the backstops (like Carmen for instance) is their run blocking (not their pass blocking) and I would argue they might be better run blockers than the starters. And so both Mixon and Perine went off during the Buffalo game.

It wasn't that they sold them early (like people online were saying) it was that the fanfare and bragging surrounding the sale of tickets was before the Bengals game had even been played. It’s always been a stigma that Mike Brown is too cheap but he’s really not as bad as people think. They pay their draft picks when they pan out. They were only cheap when it came to signing free agents and that’s been changing. Cincinnati just puts more emphasis in drafting and developing their guys not going out and buying them. It’s just a different business model from majority of the league and it hurt them for a while but look at the stars on the team. They drafted most of them.

@@rockallday0 NFL could have had both teams agree to the tie under the circumstances. Handing one team a win after one quarter of play isn’t a good resolution either. It could be seen as unfair to the Chiefs if they would have lost their last game, thus lose the top seed bye. Yes, calling a tie isn’t perfect solution. But it’s the least flawed and most simple of their options. It turns out that things are rolling as if a tie was called. And things look the way they should look

I must admit, I watch quaterbacks closely and Joe Burrow is the real deal. I respect mahomes and is a unbelievable quarterback. But because joe is 3-0 against mahomes I would put Joe Burrow at the top in my opinion. The way they handled the bills really surprised me.
