What a Voice. I’m 61 so I’ve always known him but somehow his music seems better than ever ( Mad Dogs and Englishmen) Also I’m a Montrealer but my people are from Sheffield too. And I’ve got the cutlery to prove it. Growing up family from the UK would visit and we always made sure the utensils at supper where ‘Sheffield’ steel. Lol no shit. They’d check it. They’d send us some too.

Saw Joe live at Lake Alice, University of Florida...1978 I think. Bless his heart, he was so drunk...then he stepped up to the mike, what a friggin' show.

I know Lake Alice well, lots of gators I worked at the University of Florida. I can't even imagine where a band would set up at Lake Alice with the aggressive alligators. During my tenure at UF, one baby and one dog were killed by Gators amongst other incidents. The university has a band shell, in the ten years I worked there nobody ever played at Lake Alice they all played at the Bandshell. But 1978 was a different time. I worked at the University in the 90s
