Hysteria will ALWAYS live rent free in my brain. I was in high school when it released. I remember being in in choir class over hearing my “metal head” friend talking about it and trashing it as not being true rock compared to their earlier stuff (which I loved BTW). Anyway when I finally had a listen I was instantly hooked and loved the sound. To this day still stands as a testament of power/pop rock. From cover to cover my all time favorite sounding album and band.

Yeah and that guy clearly had no idea the odds they had to overcome to remake their sound it paid off big time for them and they deserve that credit. Hysteria is a masterpiece for DL.

If you're young and you don't know a lot about Def Leppard, try the High and Dry album. It was my favorite album from Def Leppard back in the day. Its nothing like what they sound like today. Well, maybe Bringing on the Heartbreak. But, they morphed into something different. I did like Action not words. But, old Def Leppard was more my style. But, you gotta make money to survive.

Same here...and I was ESPECIALLY pumped for it because of Ric Allen. I was SO hoping I'd like Hysteria...but was apprehensive because I was generally down on digital drums...but I freaking LOVE that album and still listen to it to this day. It was actually the first one I ripped from my CD to MP3's and loaded on the hard drive in my car, lol.

I would’ve have liked some Thomas Dolby on Hysteria. Gods of War rhythm/syncs had a hint of it. The ‘Message in a bottle’ rhythm/arrangement part.
