As an Avs fan, this man deserves a spot in the hall of fame as one of the best players to never win a cup. He was an absolute legend, and a terror to play against both in his time in San Jose, and in Dallas.

Hawks fan here, always admired this guy. Was a true pro and always someone who I looked forward to playing against. Nothing but respect for him. Wish he won a cup but nevertheless a hall of fame career. Best of luck Joe 🫡🫡🍺

I grew up watching him play in San Jose and he is the hometown hero and my idol as a young hockey player. I played center so I could be like him I practiced tipping a lot so I could be like he this hurts to watch

I love you Pavs. Patrick Marleau, Joe Thornton, and Joe Pavelski will always be my favorite players. I still wish the Sharks would have found a way in 2016. I like Crosby, but I hated him in 2016. You three will always have a special place in my heart. I watched so many of your games in the wee hours of the morning in Virginia. I fell in love with the Sharks logo in NHL '95 and have been a loyal fan ever since.

Watched him as a teen in San Jose now I’m 30 and he’s still our hero , glad he was able to chase that cup for as long as he did, he started off as little joe next to big joe then by the time it was all said and done he was THE BIG PAVELSKi

Thank you Pavs, for everything you have done for the game of hockey. We absolutely loved you here in Dallas and I'm very thankful you were a part of this team. I really hope he stays with the Stars in some fashion. Take a year or two back at home, talk to the fam to see what the next move is. Maybe a coaching position in the future? Would be awesome!!

Nothing but the ultimate respect for Joe Pavelski! What a great addition to the team and he will be greatly missed. So sad he couldn't get the Stanley cup this year. We all thought there was a good chance but they just came up short.

I think he’ll be back. This sounds more like he wants a break which he may need. But when comes he back it’s gonna be in a teal. And what a ride we got to come when he does 😎

Being a lifelong Edmonton fan, I saw plenty of Joe in San Jose. It was hard to cheer against the guy, as he's a stand up player, and a class act. On Dallas, with Benn, another favourite of mine, I honestly wish both teams could somehow have gone on to another round. You don't need a cup, to be a HoF'er, Joe. If people don't give you the respect you deserve as a player, well, good is admiration from such people anyways? Whatever ya decide in terms of career, best of luck, and thanks for the great performances, even if I was cheering against you for all of them. Tc, bud. 🍻
