I feel like Nurse should be the guy who moves to the right side. Tell him to start working on his one-timer right now. And pair him with someone reliable defensively like Kulak. Nurse is at his best when he's skating, joining the rush and banging. Defensively his positioning has never really been the best anyways, and on the right side he'll be encouraged to turn his back to center ice more often and lay some hits. He's got wheels and he's got heart - so play him to his strengths.

The Oilers should have enough Cap Space to resign all of their RFA and Henrique if they're smart enough to put Evander Kane on IR for the whole season. Obviously to not allow Kane to completely heal will make the difference between a USEFUL PLAYER and a USELESS PLAYER during the long though grind towards the Stanley Cup.

He played great in kings series the gordie Howe hat trick he had his toughness behind net create goals and pertect his team if kane is ready yes you keep a guy like that they could have used him in game 7 with Driasiatle barely able to hold his stick but kane wasn't invisible he helped them get through kings series even getting brown his first goal after predicting it before game but Perry and Kane I would take Kane but both gives them two tough guys pushing other teams defense

Has Stan Bowman ever stood on his own, alone & earned his opportunities? Consider this as well, lots of General Managers make mistakes on their choices of player personnel, trades and cap management& they're never given another chance. Think how a bad trade can ruin a GM's career just by the perception of that GM's judgment. Doug Risebrough in Calgary made the Doug Gilmour for Gary Leeman trade. Never got another GM job again, assistant yes. Other examples Jay Feaster in Calgary, Joe Nieuwendyk in Dallas, Steve Tambellini in Edmonton, Peter Chiarelli in Edmonton etcetera. They washed out in their careers because of poor judgement & bad choices and no one is lobbying or advocating another chance for them.

Oh, as for draft picks, - GM's don't make draft picks, though they may settle a tie if there is one. This is why all NHL teams have what's called an 'Amateur Scouting Staff', it's their job to 'scout', i.e. watch, junior hockey in all corners of North America and Europe. They do have a mandate from the GM to be sure - i.e. what type of players they need in each position, are they going for pure offense, character, toughness, puck moving, shutdown, etc. They compile their lists and have team meetings prior to the draft. The GM may make a final decision on a close call but other wise it's the chief amateur scout that runs the draft. You probably think that Ken Holland drafted Pavel Datsuyk - he had nothing to do with it, he even said that. I don't even think Kenny saw him play. Our new GM, whomever that may be, will be working closely with Jeff Jackson I take it, as mentioned before he's hands on, not like Bob Nicholson. 3 Cups doesn't look too bad on a resume. He was also the GM of the US Olympic Hockey programme. He's a very astute man who learned from one of the best but he paved his own way. You could argue the the first Cup wasn't him (won in 2010), but the 2013 and 2015 Cups were all him. At least in terms of who he hired, and what decisions were made under him. Other than covering up the Sexual Assault, what has he done as a GM that makes you think he's not good? Did Dale Tallon's influence last 7 years after his departure? And how did Tallon do after he left ? I mean, he didn't sewer the Panthers, but how'd they do? Look it up - not nearly as well as how Bowman did with the Hawks, not even close
