When he's done everything he wants to do with his tv show, I really hope he considers getting into audiobooks. I would pre-pay for him reading an old-timey journal like this one via Audible or something. It’s frankly embarrassing how much I would pay for a “Joe Pera Reads” collection of 18th century journals…

I was just reading an update story on the reintroduced Elk population in the Appalachians and a warning for people driving on the Blueridge Parkway to not approach Elk along the roads as they may charge and attack people and/or their vehicles if they feel threatened. They were saying that small herds of twenty may be blocking roads at times. There are more in Kentucky, at 13,000 plus. Only 450 - 500 in TN. There are several places with Bison ranges East of the Mississippi. So, we still have a few places in different states where ya can go see Bison running around and semi-natural. My region is Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Tenn., Ohio.

My wife does too. She grew up in Pennsylvania so maybe that has something to do with it. When I’m boiling potatoes she’ll often take a chunk before I dump them in the water and eat it raw with a pinch of salt. It’s not something I’m into but it’s cool to know that other people do it too. @@zenkakuji3776 Raw potatoes always reminded me of unsweet apples. They've got that crunch, that graininess to them, plus their own unique flavor depending on the variety. Russets are kind of earthy, Yukons and other golds or yellows have sort of a sweet flavor almost like a subdued carrot, and white potatoes have a very mild and indistinct flavor. What's really great to blow people's minds is to cube up raw potatoes and mix them into any kind of pasta or tomato salad that uses an oil and vinegar dressing. If you make the salad the day before and let it sit overnight, the potatoes will soak up all that dressing flavor, making them crunchy little flavor bursts.
