Fights are judged through points. Not how much damage you inflict or how bloody or injured the other person is. If that was the case, Wanderlei Silva wouldn't have accomplished shit. In that fight, Jon clearly won round 4/5 but lost 1/2. It wasn't clear but landed more significant strikes in round 3. I guess you could look at it as Alexander winning the fight but Jones winning the game. Props to both for being beasts.
@larrycera19432 жыл бұрын
Ufc fights have rounds that are judged primarily by damage caused. That is the first and ultimate criteria. Even effective grappling is judged by whether you almost use it to a finish. If you get a takedown and don’t do damage from it but hold me down for three minutes (let’s say we trade little punches back and forth in the guard), but I had a single punch that caused a knockdown or caused you to be stunned momentarily, the one with the amazing strike should win the round.

Jesus Christ, I sometimes forget how the UFC and sports in general are nothing more than another side of the entertainment industry. Enraging. Also, everybody talking about the "golden snitch" Novitsky as if he's this boogeyman. Yes, he used to work for USADA, but the man now works for the UFC for Christ's sake.His job is making sure athletes don't get caught and if they do get caught, it's damage control, either by throwing people under the bus, or coming up with elaborate excuses. Just varies depending on what his bosses at the UFC say. Hilarious how people think a UFC employee is anything but a damage control expert.

Odd to hear Alex say DC is a "great guy." They were saying some NASTY stuff to each other recently. Alex even taunted DC for getting caught by that Jones kick
@CarefaceKarl6 жыл бұрын
just business, they have great mutual respect but Gustafsson knows DC wont take the fight unless theres gonna be good numbers and numbers are easily created with some trash talk.
@brentshira33736 жыл бұрын
The Twitter war I mentioned was started because Alex was pissed that DC signed to fight Stipe. There was genuine anger there. This went beyond regular trash talk
@brentshira33736 жыл бұрын
CarefaceKarl, go watch the interview that DC just did with Alex. It is on the UFC on Fox channel. After you watch it, let me know if you still think there is a "mutual respect"

Not sure why Rogan always says Jon Jones is the GOAT when he's been caught using PEDs. That should automatically disqualify him from any discussions just like Lance Armstrong.
@Uxoriouswidow4 жыл бұрын
There's almost no way to know who just didn't get caught, that's why I don't buy into disqualification for peds. But as for Lance Armstrong, pretty sure we do know everyone was on them
@jamesber7224 жыл бұрын
@@Uxoriouswidow of course it matters who is caught and who isn't. If caught, you should automatically be disqualified from any GOAT discussion in any sport.

I know this is an old video, but Gustafsson won that fight. He was robbed. He won the 1st 3 rounds, 4 was probably a draw, and Jones won round 5.

Gus looked really good early on in the fight but was definitely looking like he would've died if he had to go another round, whereas Jones was okay. But, it's really tough to have a close call like this knowing Jones is purposefully trying to bend/break rules to win.

In a game that is so much about bragging rights, Beating Jon jones would be so much bigger than winning any belt. Especially as we reach the end of his career, whoever it is, if anyone ever does get the jump on him, it would be now and they’d be able to brag about that forever.

@2:15 when Rogan starts defending J.Jones it pisses me off so much that I have to pause it and go watch something else. The defense that it was “residual from a previous exposure “ is garbage. In July of ‘16 This clown tested positive for clomiphene, an anti-estrogenic substance, and letrozole, an aromatase inhibitor. These substances were found in the June 16 out-of-competition sample provided by Jones. Both drugs are on the World Anti-Doping Agency banned substances list and are described as "hormone and metabolic modulators." both drugs are banned substances that are not allowed to be used in or out of competition. These are high performing athletes and metabolites don’t stay on your system for that kind of time. So any argument to the contrary is a lackluster attempt at defending this tool.
