I hope that down the road all of the people who currently judge Brendan so harshly will recognize that we are all human and any of us, if given a giant platform and multiple shows and podcasts, could make mistakes in our words and actions that lead to people being critical of us. Brendan is an easy person to have a public disagreement with - you win before you say a word, due to the mob of people ready and waiting to go against him / with that being the case, we will always see Brendan’s missteps being made public by other people, because they know it’s good for their own business and they won’t lose the beef. Everything Brendan has done or said wrong is public info - try to put yourself in his shoes and ask if you would want all of your mistakes to be public and be used by tens of thousands of people to break you down. He makes mistakes, and maybe you don’t like him, but there are millions of options for stuff ti watch that he isn’t involved in: why watch his content if you don’t like him? Also, if you were being hit with the level of criticism he experiences, would you continue to do multiple shows and podcasts, would you have fought in the ufc for as long as he did? Would you continue doing standup tours and shows if you had this level of backlash? To stand on stage and keep working on standup after all that should be inspiring right? The guy works hard and clearly in his personal life he treats his friends well, or they wouldn’t be the same friends and same employees for a decade. With him being an easy online person to beef with, it would be soooo easy for any of his coworkers or friends to tell everyone if he treated them poorly, and they would instantly have tens of thousands of followers tuned in and supporting them. Anyone can use a beef with Brendan to create a presence online. Consider that for a second, that means that every time he has messed up over the past years has eventually been made public - if all your faults in words and actions were made public to fifty thousand people who are active online and dislike you already, how would it go for you? Would you be able to find the courage needed to keep walking on stage to practice comedy, or keep doing all the podcasts, or even show your face in public? Imagine trying to be a balanced person when you know your wife and kids know that there are thousands of people who are harassing you and have said and done some scary stuff. I see people making fun of him in these comments and to me that just sums up the problem with the internet; everyone just says what they think will get the most likes and positive attention - doesn’t matter if it is wrong or contributes to a dangerous trend, it’s all about the attention from mob. Please y’all, just stop. Don’t watch stuff with him in the video if you can’t handle it. It went way to far and it’s just sad and scary now, and it’s so much of a bummer to see the same comments pop up that started this whole dangerous mess in the first place.

Joe Rogan was right to tell Brendan that he should reconsider his future as an MMA fighter. As it is, Brendan had already suffered four major concussions; 3 KO’s & 1 TKO. & His future would not look too bright if he risked another two or three concussions within another five to six years of MMA. I’ve known guys that got concussed a lot & ended up senile & incontinent in their 40’s & 50’s. It’s no joke. But I don’t think that giving him the idea of becoming a comedian was a good for him either. Brendan seems like a nice dude & persistent in anything he pursues, but he doesn’t strike me as someone that has enough depth and perceptiveness to be a good comedian. I’ve seen some shitty things said about him online recently. And I’m ashamed to say that I’ve been guilty of saying some shitty things about him myself. I think the trade was worth it. He had to take a little hit to his pride and ego with some real tough love and truth that hurts but in return he got a stand up career gifted to him from Rogan and Callen and everybody else under them. There’s some comedians that are actually funny and have been doing it since forever and are still lower on the totem pole than Brendan strictly because he is friends with Rogan and the whole circle. He should really appreciate it. That’s not a thing that happens to people. Especially with stand up. You don’t just get handed a stand up career. Unless your friends with Rogan.
@KolossusB2 жыл бұрын
It absolutely was worth it. He now has opportunities he can try and grow on into old age. His fighting career was basically over when they had this talk. Sure he could still fight, get some wins, get some pay cheques. But he was never going to see a big pay day or a title fight. And the money he was making was absolutely not worth the damage. And you could see Joe is at least aware he was asking his friend to give up his income, as he almost immediately went to bat for him getting him into comedy and other opportunities(Jokes about his comedy career aside). You could tell Joe cared about his friends well being, and was willing to put their friendships longevity on the line in hopes it would lead his friend down a path to better long term health. Especially where Joe has been open about having concussion issues in his younger years and feeling the effects from it, and having invested in the combat sports world his whole life where he saw plenty of fighters mentally degrade over the decades from damage. So he knew exactly the road Schaub was headed down.

There is a 10 ft wall between those who are good enough and those who are amazing. And those on the wrong side of that wall only ever go in one direction after overstaying their welcome. Brandon had tools. They just weren't sharp enough to sculpt a masterpiece. That sharpness comes from either generational talent or a lifetime of practice. He unfortunately had neither

Dude, needs to listen. I am 52 years old, and I used to be invincible in my 20s, a complete maniac. I was super smart, photgraphic memory, I have a degree in biomedical engineering, was accepted into medical school, and i speak 3 languages. BUT I used to fight A LOT, kicking the shit out of most, but there is always someone bigger and badder. so, a bunch of bell rings and a couple of knockouts later, I've been diagnosed with executive dysfunction and possibly CTE (there is no way to positively diagnose CTE until a post mortem). My neurologist told me that smart people have a much harder time with brain injuries... this shit is not fun. Stop while you ate ahead, bro 💔
@creativeape899411 ай бұрын
Why do smart people have a worse time?
@petekambitsis232310 ай бұрын
@creativeape8994 i think, because smart people rely on their memory and brain for more things. Speaking for myself, I never had to write anything down... names, addresses, appointments, and directions so I didn't have the skills to keep myself organized. Then, when your brain no longer works, you are forced to learn new things. It's way more complicated than just this. This is just 1 example.
