a thing about being ugly tho, is that there isn't a guarantee that anyone in this world will love you. In fact, the odds are stacked against you. I'd much rather be beautiful and be in a superficial relationship, than be ugly and not get into any relationship at all

I'm American, but one time I was travelling through Europe with a couple friends, and we had been on the road for 4 or 5 hours. We decided to pull off at this tiny little village in France to grab something to eat real quick. I don't remember the name of it. It was kind of up in the hills with gorgeous views, charming little shops, but not many people walking around. The type of place you could drive right passed on a long road trip and not even remember driving through it. It looked like there was only 1 actual sit-down restaurant, so we made our way there. There was an older overweight woman near the door who gave us some menus and pointed at the outdoor tables to take a seat. About 15 min later, the waitress came to take our order. I shit you not, to this day, she was the most beautiful girl I've ever seen in my life. Perfect tan, green eyes and strawberry blonde hair. She had that alien beauty that Bill was talking about. Like you couldn't find a flaw on her. I work in a part of L.A. where I see a lot of celebrities and models. They had nothing on her. I'm no simp but she was beautiful on a whole other level. And she wasn't even wearing makeup. Just completely natural beauty and a simple ponytail. Her english was very limited, so she was struggling with understanding us. She got really nervous, which was unlike the other French people we met, who would just repeat what they were saying in French but louder and a more angry tone lol. She had an innocence about her. She went and got the older lady to come and help her. Turns out that older lady was her aunt, and she was born and raised in that tiny little village. She probably had no idea how beautiful she was on a global scale.

Celebrities and models are women who wanted to use their beauty to gain celebrity. But the vast majority of beautiful people are happy to lead an ordinary life far from the limelight. You shouldn't have been surprised to see her in a small village.

I read your comment, and I thought about it.. Let me enlighten you. Model scouts, photographers, and people who "know people" travel all the time. They actively seek the most exotic women. One example is Sharbat Gula whom they found in AFGHANISTAN. She had exotic eyes and immediately became known. My point is, you will NEVER see someone THAT HOT in real life who isn't famous. There's no doubt she was beautiful, but nowhere near top models. You would see that if she stood next to them. You were probs really horny.

Because actresses are usually already at the lowest weight they should be. Cameras really do make you look heavier than you are, so to appear super trim, you usually have to stay a little underweight. And when your at your lowest weight, losing 15 lbs is not easy. Plus It’s psychologically tough to be constantly malnourished and stressed. That’s why actresses usually drink so much green juice because they have to get in nutrition with little macros.

"Stop complaining about the unattainable beauty standard and go to the gym." "If you have an eating disorder I get that but drink some fuckin smoothies." These guys are missing the point totally, especially Bill. The "beauty standard" isn't referring to the famous actors with abs, its referring to the intense amount of pre, during and post production that curates an image that bears no flaws whatsoever - done on actors/models that already have their lives dedicated to their image (believe it or not, not everyone can prioritise their beauty amongst their careers), even just the sheer amount of work put into these images is unattainable to the average person. The sheer volume of these seemingly real but unreal ideals across many media forms accumulate for years in the minds of children, teenagers and adults, People aren't being self-important when they demand change in the media - because the media is a public platform that impacts everyone. It's the same reason why some countries have regulations around how smoking/drinking can be portrayed in film. Go ask any teenage girl - even the ones without ED's will probably tell you how at some point they've employed unhealthy tactics to change themselves. But these guys seem to be more concerned about "the hundred million dollars as stake if this actor doesn't lose 20 pounds"... yeah right. Not one good point was made in this video, plenty of good jokes tho lol
@MHWGamer2 жыл бұрын
but people have also to learn to not be fucking retarded. Otherwise we as 'consumers' would believe anything that would be said in ads (the percentage is too high even right now), removing the plain obvious sign on which is written "ads are fake and BS" would probably higher that percentage. if I watch a movie about superheros, obviously they have to look like super humans and not some realistic gym guy. And that is only possible by faking stuff - surprising I know but the actors aren't even real superheros. I stand for banning ads that promote anorexia in fashion or when the product is in direct context to the look (protein shake but using a modell on steriods etc). But for the big stuff like normal ads for big brands (fashion, odors etc) and hollywood it is ridiculous to ban something like that and that is what they talked about in the video. the general problem is more social media and parents disconnected from their kids with no parenting lessons or control (imagine what the babies now have to deal with with parents that have never learned it themself)

When one says "unattainable" they mean when photographs or videos were intensively edited and then released as natural. If you actually KNOW the beauty industry, you will see this happens even to women who are already practically perfect. That gives a mass false impression... some women are insanely gorgeous naturally - absolutely, but let's be honest A LOT of what runs through social media as models, and even in magazine, has been edited to a disturbing degree. Waist lines are trimmed off, skin flaws removed, lighting tampered, even the smallest hair out of place, hidden away with advanced photoshopping tools. Young girls are watching and their own self esteem is being destroyed. Let us not forget about those fragile and impressionable minds. Sure sexy people are paid to be sexy, no one is trying to stop that, but let's stop releasing these ridiculous "unrealistic" bodies that have been edited so professionally that a regular person wouldn't know the difference, and feels ugly for having things that are normal! Super models have stretch marks, movie stars have skin problems too, your favorite travel vlogger has a waistline, and that gym enthusiast you love so much, has her tits done. Cellulite isn't just on "ugly" people. Let's not erase the real problem, which is over using editing tools. If they are beautiful - share them as is.... that's all we are saying. It's just overkill now.

If you dont think that its more difficult to put on 20 pounds of muscle and have visible abs than it is to drop 15 pounds then youve never exercised in your life. In fact, gaining 20lbs of muscle and visible abs typically requires you to lose fat at the same time.

Mercb3ast - To vain muscle and stay ripped? Not necessarily. Intermittent fasting and a proper diet can help maintain a lower body fat percentage along with adding muscle. Granted, if you want ridiculous gains, yes, anabolic steroids are the answer.
@warrenmason15826 жыл бұрын
You don't need fucking roids to stay in great lean shape. It is all about proper diet and exercise. Every person is different and it just comes down to what works best for the individual. People saying that gaining muscle while losing fat is impossible obviously have never done it before.

Complaining about unrealistic beauty standards is like saying pro athletes are too good and make me feel uncomfortable in my sporting ability
@ten_tego_teges3 жыл бұрын
Except when pro athletes do doping they are banned. When models get photoshoped it just gets printed. Besides, sports celebrates "the best", when I watch a downhill skiing competition the commentator doesn't remind me that I too should strive to ride at 100mph. OTOH, a glossy magazine will absolutely try to convince me that this photoshoped, anorexic model is how I'm supposed to look as well.

I think Joe makes a good point. Actors benefit from an industry which values their looks. When they knowingly allow themselves to profit from that industry they should lose any privilege to complain about being expected to look a certain way. If they wish to play roles which value their acting skills without them having to maintain a certain appearance they can just go look for other roles.
@LeeMuayThai Жыл бұрын
If you want to keep promoting this as "standard" for the country because our country USA relies on media to get their ideas and values these days, which is sad, and the media benefits from that obviously. So no, maybe making people anorexic just to make money isn't ethical and right.

I am pretty sure that "Unattainable bodies" refers to models that have been photoshopped to a point where they hardly even resemble humans... ya know, 0 pores, no blemishes, bigger eyes and literally unobtainable bone structures. I think the culprit is Photoshop, not the models
@thekid82244 жыл бұрын
No most of these models arent photoshop celebrities maybe but models are not. I know because I work closely with models. The whole point of models being models is that they dont look like your everyday person. Most of these models have some of the most beautiful skin which means less make up and also less retouching. And same with their figures they need to fit in the clothes so,again that's what,they actually look like. Funny enough some models actually look way better in person than in images
