I am shocked that no one approached the victim immediately after the incident. I'm disgusted that the perpetrator was hugged and supported and the victim was ignored. It is an indictment of the hypocritical and heartless character of the people who have supported the perpetrator and ignoring the victim They should be deeply ashamed of what a disgusting character they have.

Their failure to protect him, their inability to take charge of the situation and leave Chris to hang out on his own, no one even went up to him to see if he needed medical attention shows you how disgusting Hollywood is. This was awful on so many levels, for women, for black men, for society, for controlling narcissists, and of course for Chris Rock who is one of the most talented comics I've ever seen. And Will chose to throw his entire reputation he spent half a century developing just to prove to his cheating wife that he "loves" her. But clearly she only loves herself. yes, a good choise of words. remember that also: in the end it was all rotten inside ...imagine that... all those good roles and acts and still its all rotten inside like this. in addition to this crazy life in hollywood and crazy inbalance in Jadas and Wills relationship . in addition to exposing how women use men like him and disrespect men like him. and in addtition to how Will let her beat him down into this form.

Will Smith could have made a much more impactful statement about how to treat people if he would have stepped next to Chris put his arm around him and said, "I would like to explain to you and the world that my wife is suffering from Alopecia." He could have gone on to explain the impact of it on her life which would have served to bring understanding to the disease and those that have it and it would have been a positive, uplifting moment. Instead, he chose the low road. Which speaks volumes about his character. They should take his award but, they won't. They don't have the guts to do the right thing.

I do pity Will Smith but I also think he has to now accept the consequences of his actions. I hope the Academy takes a real stand and dole out the necessary punishment for Smith’s egregious actions...strip the award, expel him from the Academy, and ban him from attending future events.
