Big ideas won't work if the people in power are selfish. Can you imagine Congress trying to hammer out differences on President Wang's economic plan? I may trust ANDREW WANG, but I don't trust the central authorites in Washington. Right now they are playing footsie with the illegal immigrants and Trump now says he wants more immigrants than ever(!); this is a clear signal to those (very poor and uneducated) potential immigrants around the world. Trump now stands with the Chamber of Commerce, not the people of the United States of America. Trump views the nation, about which I think he actually knows very little, as a simple civic entity, with no defining tradition, culture or organic law that he respects. Trump thinks he is the man and wants to MAGA but is he working toward creating "a nation of laws and not of men"? Neither Trump nor Wang are "the man"--there isn't one. (Trump is looking very weak on 2nd Amendment rights and privacy,, or he doesn't understand the founding principles of the country.) Yang gives too much credit to the powerful. But when you hand power to the leaders, the worst persons are attracted to the offices of government and immediately corrupt the system or they are gradually suborned to corruption. “In questions of power, let no more be heard of confidence in man, but bind him down from mischief by the chains of the Constitution.” - Thomas Jefferson.

@@joefacts3681 But Yang has real and sensual ideas that would actually work like FDR's New Deal (alike from Yang's Freedom Dividend plan, but in an economic standard), instead of the corrupt congress hammering down on the same old political nonsense. We can't have division and turmoil in this country, or it would end with chaos. New ideas that are implemented does not mean it poisons the Constitution, because it is mainly for the ideals of democracy and republicanism. And Yang doesn't benefit "to the powerful", he specifically said that he would completely improve the majority of Americans in many instances (relocating jobs, increasing money sources, and empowering policies that are more broad/logical). That's why Yang is running.

You or people like you are really out of date, and have little knowledge in Tech advance (robots/AI/Automation) and its influence on human society. Robots increased GDP drastically since 2017, a over 2 trillion increase in GDP! However, Trump increased the national debts by over 2 trillions even though the nations GDP increased due to automation in the industry. Trump paid people (especially Rich people) 's tax cuts by increasing the National DEBTS! You don't even have the mentality to do the simple math: GovernmentAdminCost=Total Tax Income + Debts. If giving rich people tax cuts, that means the totalTaxIncome is not enough to cover GovernmentadminCOst. There fore the only way to reach the balance is the get Debts! over 2.5 more debts during Trump's first two years administration!

I am an owner operator with my own small truck business and I can tell you that Mr. Yang is completely in tune with the reality of how truck drivers think and would react. He is the only person that gets it and fully understands that there has to be a sane transition from human driven trucks to robotically driven trucks. The idea that we can just be dismissive of the ramifications of the truck driver no longer making purchases that absolutely affect many other jobs such as restaurants, hotels, truck repair shops, etc. is not a logical perspective, when in reality so many men _(and women)_ will need their lives to mean something and their energies to be shifted towards a fulfilling business model to continue their economic continuity. Though the $12,000 (annually) doesn’t solve the monetary deficiency from their (Truck drivers) normal income, it does aid the individuals in their next business endeavors or job that they would want to pursue if having to accept the reality that they face. There is no other person running for president that could possibly change the economic longevity of the country and give true policies that will be needed to replace the current model so that we can continue being self sustained individuals all the while feeling like their contributing to society. Bernie was the answer for the 2000’s, *_Andrew Yang is the answer for 2020!_*

I'm a third generation trucker, I completely agree. There are 8 million employees in trucking, including the driver's support system and 7 million working in truck stops and diners across America, that's a lot of jobs affected by losing truck drivers. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe driver pay accounts for 42% of all operating costs, imagine the amount of profit these greedy big carriers will pull in by getting rid of us. That's hundreds of billions annually. I have no problem redistributing the wealth generated by the automated labor to the People.

How Yang will pay for UBI: i.redd.it/52fegq9y0ns21.png Although Yang typically calls out Amazon, there are dozens of fortune 500 companies that pay less federal taxes than each of us do individually....year after year. This is the real crime that corporate media never talks about, EVER.... just another hard truth many weren't aware of until Andrew came along. It's total bullshit they've gotten away with this for so long and if a VAT is the most reliable way to bring this to an end....then OK. I'm fine with that because a minor tax increase comes nowhere near mitigating the benefits of $1000/month and it doesn't seem like other candidates have reliable solutions around this matter. 60 Companies Avoiding All Federal Income Taxes in 2018 - itep.org/notadime/#table DOESN'T THE 10% VAT TAKE A HUGE AMOUNT AWAY FROM AVERAGE AMERICANS? NOT AT ALL. • Example 1: Yang's Freedom Dividend is giving you $1,000 a month or $12,000 a year. • Assume you spend it all on VAT taxable items (not VAT exempted basic necessities like food and medicine) you have to pay $1,200 in VAT, but you get $10,800 net cash value. It is a 10% haircut, but you will be ahead by $10,800 a year with Yang's Freedom Dividend. • Example 2: Let's say you are a big earner, - If you actually spend $120,000 a year on all VAT taxable items; you will have paid $12,000 in VAT, but you also receive $12,000 in Freedom Dividends, so you are not out any money. - If you have a life partner, you two will get to spend $240,000 before zeroing out your $24,000 of Freedom Dividends. - If the two of you also have two 18 year olds, you'll have to spend $480,000 before wasting through your $48,000 of Freedom Dividends.

It sounds like paying a tax to become a slave. The ubi is funded in part by a value added tax. VAT The value-added tax is collected by the retailer from the consumer. So Amazon becomes a tax collector, they don't pay a tax on their profits. It doesn't tax them, it taxes the people buying stuff. Once everything costs more because of the new taxes, everyone except the very wealthy needs the ubi to live. Whoever has the control of everyone's livelihood is the master. Everyone becomes enslaved. And worse yet, everyone is required to pay for It's implementation.

Exactly, the problem with carrier politicians is that they are not working to make the country better, they are working for votes. So they end up always attacking the symptoms rather than the root of issues because it's more flashy and looks like you do something. They have no incentive to actually look at the data and find the source of the problems, they just ride along with whatever people feel is the problem. Politicians have incentive to prepare for the aftermath of tragedies, never to avoid them. Politically, avoiding a tragedy is counter productive, most people will think it would have never happened anyway, but if you pick up the pieces after the tragedy, you get acclaimed...
