Montréal banned the use of fireplaces inside your own home, because "carbon pollution". A city that 20 years before had been devastated by an ice storm that had destroyed the electrical grid because of ice ripping apart telephone poles, cut off access to the island because of snow and ice on the bridges, and had necessitated the army to help clean up the roads. Now: why ban fireplaces? Because the city had installed "pollution sensors" all over the city for data, and one (very close to a pizza restaurant) had recorded high amounts of carbon dioxide. Therefore, the logical next step was to ban the use of everyboby's home's hearth. This is just one reason why the rest of Canada doesn't respect Montréal.

Malcolm Gladwell is awesome. It's amazing. What he is saying is exactly how I work when it comes to learning from situations. THe truth is ,I do not know everything and I don't always understand peoples intention or what they mean or why they say what they say. Sometimes you need other scenarios to play on so you can apply what someone else lent to you, and you can see what they were saying in another light. There are times I've realized "oh maybe this is what that person meant or what they said then applies well to what I'm encountering now". Instead of judging people the wrong way (which I do often) I love realizing not judging or prejudging them helps me , give people a chance. Malcolm is very wise

@ I think the majority of anyone anywhere would think you are a bafoon for this comment, because most of us knows something you clearly couldn't figure out. Joe have been an exeptional interviewer for staggering amounts of podcasts, he have followed the conceptual thinking of many inteligent people to his best ability and often delivered great dialoge or follow up questions for that very reason. He is level 10 chill, level 10 easy going and not afraid to confront when he think you are making incoherent or absurd points. You could not be as good of a host if you trained all your life dear, appriciate the amazing content he gives you for free instead of infact acting like the bafoon yourself.

@ Well, I will argue the point simply because I'm bored on my lunch break. Saying a dude who has successfully interviewed hundreds of great minds, is a self made millionaire, national level martial artist and arena level comedian is "dumb as rocks", is pretty stupid. Careful throwing stones in that glass house bud.
@Julian-we6qg5 жыл бұрын
@ I doubt so too, yes joe is at his best when he listens and asks relating questions as evryone knows he is great at. I dont care if he didn't even know who Thomas Edison, Einsten or Htiler himself were, non less Adam Smith. As a matter of fact only hard driven pompous academics would use such points to disqualify anyone. You talk about cults, what is the general agenda and ideas behind this cult you refer to? I'm sure since you use these big words you'd also know that any cult worth mentioning usually have some abnormal ideas they speculates on.
