Kurt Vonnegut also said, about the Dresden bombing, later in his life he ending up meeting/speaking with some of the people involved in the decision making that led up to the bombing, and the answer that he got was that Dresden was bombed due to "bureaucratic inertia" which is to say, the people bombing had a lot of bombs to drop, and they were going to drop them somewhere so it ended up being Dresden, even though there was no practical military justification or reason for setting it and its inhabitants on fire...
@mop9i40k9 ай бұрын
I do not understand why it's not common knowledge, Dresden was bombed to shit only because it'd end up in soviet occupation zone.
@mancyank5648 ай бұрын
The Soviets asked the Allies to bomb Dresden because it was a major train hub. War materials were passing through Dresden on the way to the Eastern front.
@paulmryglod48028 ай бұрын
@mancyank564 yes this is not known as much. Good to point this out. There wasnt much other military justification to level the city, though.
@mop9i40k8 ай бұрын
@@mancyank564 Common you cant beleive that crap, can you? The amount of bombs, planes, pilots and fuel used was enough to level all train stations in Germany + all military factories + half of German troops but instead they leveled the whole town with 300 000 women and children, why would they? Btw they did not drop a single f'king bomb to stop transporting jews to death camps and they knew 100% about genocide and did nothing not just to stop it but even to delay it.
