As a former (somewhat successful) substance provider in the UK.. I can honestly say that this interview has really struck a chord with me. Like Rick I was under educated and naive. I also, like Rick, had a propensity for sport. I was a boxer from the age of ten, won many medals and by the time I was 16 I had 3 Welsh and 2 British vests. I loved the acclaim and having grown up in poverty was hungry for respect and any kind of adulation.. suffice to say, I got into “the wrong crowd” and pretty soon I was selling dope and collecting debts with my fists… and it was all good for a while.. Then the bubble burst.. and my whole world came crumbling down. I lost my freedom, my self respect, my friends, my family and any semblance of dignity that I ever held. All that was 30 years ago.. I’ve spent every single day since then working on being a better man. I’m not a perfect person and I never will be.. but like Rick, I’ll just keep on trying…

Thank you Tom, thank you Eli… yeah I’ve thought about telling my story.. but I decided to leave my past in the past. My history is colourful to say the least, but I hurt more people than I helped so I try to move forward without looking back. To cut a long story short, I found music and and music pulled me kicking and screaming away from the nightmare that was my life. I’ve been writing and performing for more than 20 years now and I’ll continue to do so until I breathe my last breath. If you listen to my songs I guess you might say that I’ve already written my life story. Thank you both for your kind words and may your God or Gods bless you ❤

I was one of those kids going to school, with holes in my sneakers, wearing the sane clothes, two days in a row, dirty skin, started going out drinking, smoking, doing really dumb stuff headed down the wrong path, really dysfunctional household, until i was put into a Group home and did great. They helped me read better, learn better, I started working wanting better but the Group home agency kicked us back to the messed up environment i came from. I literally got siked out of bettering my life and also the fact a drunk lady hit us in our Group home van messing my back up and cost me years of suffering and pain. Im an adult now and Im still struggling. This place is really fucked up tbh i can't believe humans treat each other this way.

Have you ever owned a home if somebody just gives you a home and you don’t have money to take care of it it’s just gonna fall apart. You still have to maintain at home and no homeless person has the means to do that you would basically have to give them the home, maintain the home for them probably feed them, you start doing stuff like that and you’ll have an even bigger problem with people not wanting to work. It’s not that simple is all I’m saying there would have to be much more to it. 😂😂😂
