To be fair to Rogan, that's pretty easy to do considering Peterson only talks in word salad form. Jordan Peterson often disagrees with Jordan Peterson by agreeing with Jordan Peterson. Personally I like how even his own fans are fighting over if he bravely recovered from a benzoid addiction he developed because the love of his life was diagnosed with cancer OR if it wasn't really an addiction at all and it was only the side effects of the drugs he was taking that forced him into that Russian coma.

To let go of the idea that the suffer you’ve lived through is to blame for what you lack, but instead something like a weight you can bear honourably on your pursuit towards a more meaningful life. And that even though life is hard, we are way harder. "Becoming a man" also means not putting up with lies and bad treatment anymore. I was physically and socially awkward coming up through school, and as a result my major interaction with girls was a series of _Carrie_ style practical jokes at my expense. The real problem, as I see it, wasn't that there were evil bitches, because there will always be evil bitches. The problem was I bowed my head and took it. Being a man doesn't mean believing I deserve the perfect Disney ending, or that everything is going to go my way, or that everyone is going to tell me the truth. It means understanding the goal _isn't_ "getting a woman." If that were all, there are bars in my town. Statistically speaking, there are bar skanks there. It's not that hard. I've been sexually harassed half a dozen times, I could have just said yes if the only goal was to have a woman pay attention to me. No. The goal is self-respect, in whatever form that takes. The goal is having the discernment to detect a no-win scenario and the discipline not to walk into it. Becoming attractive doesn't mean evil bitches leave you alone. In fact, the evil ones will abuse an attractive man in more ways than they will an ugly man. Being attractive only means quality women might also be interested. I've done martial arts and weightlifting. They do NOT cure the hopelessness that comes from only ever having been treated badly. If you start lifting, doing ju jitsu, and getting out of the house, only to accept an emotionally abusive slag who cheats on you because you were too desperate and myopic to see that ANY attention isn't the same as GOOD attention, you're still losing.

this should have more likes because joe rogan forgets men are still people and people have deep rooted issues if they have trouble in handling themselves into the real world. That can be abuse in their childhood, etc. And the incel topic i think it depends. No one gets something willingly by just demanding, same goes that you can't buy love or affection, maybe you can fake it, but not the genuine affection of a woman and the willingness to be with you. And that's the bias with Incels; same as some women who work themselves to fix their internal issues through therapy so they can be emotionally reliable same needs to happen with men. That mentality of "be a man" in taking all the problems in doesn't help when it comes to be a reliable man to the people around you. That's why you see so many men coping with substances. Its very easy to say " put yourself together" when they don't have guidance. It's not the job of a woman to fix a man, but instead, each individual should strive to help themselves so they can help others. Without that we end up just wrapped up into a self absorb bubble thinking the world ows us something.

So mind as well start building something now so you're not at the bottom when the "tidal wave" of life comes at you. Sure you can always stay at the bottom, never lose anything because you never built anything. But is that really what we want to think of ourselves during the last moments of our lives? Where is the will, the thirst of life, in men, to experience the most out of life? JR simplifies things to the point it sounds radical to most men but that just tells the state of their minds. If it really sounds so scary to just get off your ass and do something, anything to get pride out of, aren't they just kicking themselves down. The only acceptable thing keeping men down should be a clinical mental disease or if they're physically handicapped. What is your opinion of this?

This is a group of men that didn't learn some social issues that most people take for granted. Their experiences are normal but they've accepted the wrong viewpoint. Again I wish their were "real men" who would treat incels with respect and extend a hand to them rather than kick them while their down.
@bleung2274

It's hilariously easy to tell people "it won't get easier" or "man up". Easy to look at successful people and say "if they can do it, so can you, doesn't matter what the circumstances are". Then turn a blind eye when they kill themselves because they've given in to despair that other people helped to reinforce. But even this ends up being justified with lines like "I were only trying to help", "they were just too weak", or the good old classic "they weren't real men". Stigmatize the incels, brand them as useless/deficient/alt right nazis or whatever the popular catchphrase of the day is, and if they decide to kill themselves, ridicule them because suicide is a cardinal sin to society. How dare they not put up with living a miserable life. Unthinkable. Even alcoholics and drug addicts are better than the terminally depressed. Then there are the people that "man up" in the worst way and turn to violence, they find that confidence holy grail Joe sent them on a search for, except it's so extreme that he disavows them instantly. But the media isn't concerned with why people become extremists, or whether it's gradual or sudden. They just want someone to use as a talking point, and misery loves company. Easier to talk about incels if they're all sociopathic murderers or useless subhumans, humanizing them would take too much effort. When the mass media just repeats the same rhetoric of "man up", "it's your responsibility to step up", "stop complaining and just put up with it", "you're a man aren't you?" day in day out, they have to eventually realize that to a group who considers themselves disenfranchised and disillusioned, these words only sound hollow and if anything, they come off as scornful - like nothing they've done matters, their lives don't matter, and it's their fault that they aren't as successful as Joe Rogan here. Everytime Joe touches on this topic it's inevitably the same thing "man up", "I did it, why don't you", "just do it". He might as well be a commercial for steroid doping at this point. The optics aren't good. So how many suicides does it take for people to actually give a shit? Does it have to be somebody personal? Or is everyone truly convinced that ambiguous wisdom and empty promises of some "green pasture of appreciation" will convert this group of individuals? That one day, like casting a magic spell "man up" will make these people overnight successes? At this point there might as well be a war so these people can have a purpose. At least if they go off and die for a purpose, they'll have something in common with their incel predecessors decades and centuries back.

You need determinationo, the opposite of an open mind. A very difficult thing to have though. And Joe knows what it takes to get better, and I agree with him 100%. Dude, man to man......don't let her destroy your life. It hurts dude but don't let it consume you. There's no solutions at the bottom of a bottle. Up until Nov 2019 I had a really bad dependency problem with booze, and my drinking really got dangerous after my divorce. What i had to do was address my issues with my mental well being, once I did that it made sobering up a breeze One thing you could do, the moment a horrible/depressing thought comes to mind, just drop and do 10 push ups. Repeat that process throughout the day. If 10 isn't enough aim for 15 or 20. It'll help distract you from what's going on while at the same time redirecting your negative energy You can do this brotha

Tough love isn't love, its just tough. Its an escape hatch for when the kid blows his brains out you can say "atleast I helped" and walk away from the situation. Theres an epidemic of mental health issues in young men right now and the most you can muster up from people is sneering hatred. We've abandoned these young men because its nearly impossible for us as a species to sympathize with them because men see them as competition and women see them as beneath them. Hell, it was hard for me to initially sympathize with them until I started to listen to them. Giving advice like "just lift bro" or "learn BJJ" and shit like that isn't helping.

@@omanovicdino3017 nice misquotation/strawman argument. I said they smelled desperation like a dog smells fear. I'm not 100% sure about the latter, but I know about the former because it's an ability every human has. Desperation and neediness go hand in hand with a need for validation in this case. This can be expressed via behaviors like constant putting oneself down for hope of validation from the person you're talking to. This can be exhausting with friends, but people do it because they care about the other person. People who are already lonely and have this big need to fill a void will constantly try too hard. This comes off as super desperate. My "they smell fear" was a figure of speech. What I meant was that people (in this case women) can tell through interaction when somebody is trying to proof himself as a partner and acts artificially instead of being their honest self. Women generally prefer the latter though as they want to see how somebody is during a long-term relationship. And they want somebody who has standards and wouldn't settle for anybody because they feel valuable that way.

Im an incel, by definition because im involuntarily celibate and single. I don't blame women or society or anything like that, i don't complain on some dumb website or subreddit. Im an incel for many reasons, my parents split and i was abused for years by my alchoholic dad and i switched schools from moving alot. I built relationships at school early but everytime i moved i lost all my friends, later on the abuse affected me so much that when i moved schools again i was too anxious to talk to people and make friends again. I became a loner due to social anxiety that only started because of being beaten. I lost trust in people because i couldn't even trust my own parents. I moved again and again city to city until my dad went to jail, i never got the chance to build relationships or learn social skills i just became quiet and and severely anxious. Nothing changed because I never stayed in the same school for long i was like a drifter😂 ive never had a girlfriend, im a virgin i dont blame anybody but my abusive dad. I dont blame society or women or anything like that. The closest thing to blaming society i feel is just wishing that in the future our society does better at preventing childhood abuse by parents that are absolute monsters. When i say abuse i mean like real abuse. I wish people would consider that incels are not just losers to blame for their own problems they are human beings and many of them have pasts that you couldn't imagine. They are mentally ill in most cases. Instead of blaming incels maybe we could analyze what is causing the issue. Many incels are a lost cause we should try to prevent the future creation of them. We need to find a way to reduce childhood abuse. No child should have to worry about being beaten everyday or any other form of abuse especially by their own parents.

You’ll never reduce child abuse, never in a million years, it’s down the the individual and if he is an abuser he will always be one, need to stop focusing on what causing the problems and focus on how to treat the victim him/herself, how they can improve, it sounds like your too deep in your past and relying on a potential partner to solve it, Only you can do that, you’re a different person when you’re fixed, believe me. you may not even like that partner by time you’re healed, and she may not even like you after it, and then your back to square 1 does gym turn down abused people? do hobbies? do skills or talents? you’re not an incel, you just haven’t even started your future yet, this world won’t help you with anything, so get to it. the only thing that can make you an incel is you There are abused people who have made it so forget about all that, or don’t and stay in incel limbo forever, if that’s what makes you feel more comfortable

I cant even imagine how it would be like to be abused from alcoholic parents and get cut off every friend I made due to constant moving. These are hard burdons. Its good that youre past blaming society for your „fare“. But now comes the hard thing: I think its gonna be very difficuilt for you if you don‘t forgive your parents ( just for you, not for them ) so that you not let these issues controll your future. I can totally understand that you dont want to do this and its not something, you can do instantly. Its something, that might happen on your way of getting controll of your own life. I think its worth a try to say that YOU are responsible for your future. Doing so you will carry those burdons and you feel strong about it. you can start with definining attainable goals you want to achive in your life. Gym might also help, because you can meet people, get physically and mentally stronger etc. Also consider therapy if you have the feeling that you need professional help to overcome your situation. Its not a shame or anything line that, it just shows that you take responsibility for yourself. I wish you all the best my friend! And i’m convinced youll do it. If you like, you can comment how your situation envolved over time. Would be interesting to me. J

I feel like a lot of pre-incels might start out by seeing themselves as pretty normal human beings who recognize women as normal human beings as well. They think being in a relationship and having sex feels great, and they know that sooo many women out there feel the same way. Because they know this, they expect getting in a relationship simply by being themselves and doing what they usually do. The problem is that obtaining and maintaining a relationship actually takes a lot of active effort, and tons of luck. Since these guys don't recognize that over time, they become filled with bitterness and resentment, not understanding what it is that they're doing wrong. They start by turning their hatred inwards, but that doesn't really bear fruit in the long term, so they consciously or sub-consciously find a way to release that energy. Cue Incel forums. At these forums they can read long essays written by men in similar situations, and they can confirm their insecurities and feed their self-hatred. Their loneliness can be caused by a number of reasons, but by visiting these forums they gradually start directing their hatred towards feminism, alpha males, bro-culture, women or society in general. It finally boils down into blaming the universe for burdening them with such "evolutionary inferior" body traits. How can we get these people out of this rut? I really don't feel like saying "Just shape up! Do it! Work! Obtain your goals" is going to work for people like this because they either feel like they HAVE tried doing all these things with no success, or they don't have any clear goals or incentive to work towards. They feel like they just sort of exist and suffer. Strange really.

If you look at the psychologist Carl Rogers and his theory of the real self and the ideal self you see how people actively look for confirmation of how they see themselves. It's also known as cognitive bias which shuts out most information invalidating your point of view and actively seeks out things that enforce it. It's a human instinct, one that sadly gets enforced by the internet as you pointed out. What incels don't realize is that life is fucking hard and every minute you spend on not improving it, but doing self-destructive shit, you're falling behind your peers. It' like they can't see how most try their best to life their best lives and work hard for it on a daily basis. These incels in the meanwhile are used to npc monsters that level with their character, they never learned what "hard" actually means. Or they praise themselves at being good at Dark Souls, not realizing that it's easy because you can replay every single situation an infinite amount of times. They don't realize that guess what, finding somebody that you're physically attracted to and shares compatible humor, goals, sexual interests etc. is 100 times harder! So step out of their basements every blue moon, fail and see their bias confirmed. But of course it's not them, it's their genetics as well as eeeeverybody else.

@ClandestineOstrich people are simply not realistic and have like you said unhealthy outlook on life. this is currently because of our audacity to think we deserve something especially a human being like its a property. this is especially evident with women today hence a nightmarish scene. people settle because they assume society will take care of them if they do what society tells them to. but society doesnt anymore yet it still perpetuates this script. most people are either out of touch with reality of things or simply dont want to admit this fact due to their personal inadequacies be it insecurity or anything else. time to get real as they say.

Once you have self respect, you start to figure what your identity is, and what you have of value that you could provide to others. But, feeling sorry for yourself and pointing fingers at the world isn’t going to get you there. Looks aren’t everything, but you have to know what your value is.

Incel 3/10 nerds with bad facial hair and questionable fashion sense goes for Smoking hot 8/10 girls and say shit to them like "I love you" when they hardly know them and then they wonder why they don't get laid or they go for the be her friend tactic and then spend 6 months trying to pluck up the courage to ask them out and the crazy thing is in the first two weeks of them being friends with this female the female will say to herself on numerous occasions "is he gonna ask me for sex yet" "guess not he must just want to be friends with me, maybe he is gay"

This whole incel thing seems to stem from the fact that it's much easier for people to connect now and women don't have to settle for whatever schmuck happens to be at the bar on a given night. If someone can't compete in that environment then it means they need to work on themselves.

If we are just talking purely incel vs getting laid no esoteric elements: “the one” or “connection” then cash is king. Other than that it’s just about the social situation or praxis you happen to be in. For example I’ve worked a boring 9-5 in a boring town and not got much action then moved to working in tourism in a fun tourist resort and got loads, it’s nothing to do with how manly I was, I was the same dude, but like most things in life it was purely the circumstances I happened to find myself... but this explanation won’t sell many books or get many views 🤣🤣🤣

I disagree. It's not the first step that's the hardest. It's the fifth step. First step is a matter of making a bold declaration, "I WILL make a change!" Then... comes the second step, and it's a little harder. And then the third, the fourth... generally speaking, that's when people tend to quit, in my experience. When it's become too much like work, and the initial resolve has begun to fade, and things haven't become a new routine yet... that's the hard part. Too many people are good at taking that first step... again, and again, and again, and never quite making it up to the double digits.

that's only true when you have motivation involved, if you are not hyped about workout, and go workout for the first time, it's the hardest, then you know the place, your routine is a little bit better, it's more clear to you what to do etc. but I do agree, the fifth step, even if motivation is not involved is hard as fuck, it shows you that there's still much work to do and that even after let's say 5 days of studying you barely moved to your goal and the success won't just magically fall onto your lap, and you still have years and years of hard work ahead, when you realize that, accept it and still keep moving, that's when it gets a bit easier

All it sees is her exterior and it is more than enough to " get your downside going". I think what Jordan means by cultural monogamy being part of the solution to the incel problem is that monogamy locks one man to one woman so, in effect, there would be more women available for the rest of men who can pair bond with more or less the same number of women in the population and thus lower the number of incels. This does NOT mean that incels don't have to get their shit together regardless, it just mathematically makes it more viable to pair bond if the top 10% of men aren't hogging all the women which is something that is resolved through monogamy.

Non monogamy or short term relationships obviously create MORE people available for dating. Lemme tell you, I'm 40, and all the half decent dudes are all married with kids now,so the dating pool has shrunk considerably than when I was in my 20s.
