Nah, the ref did count slow for buster, but he gave tyson just as long, maybe slightly less. But we don't know whether or not Buster would have risen with a proper count. Buster deliberately waited for the ref to reach 9 on the count which you're allowed to do to buy more time. If the ref had counted properly I think he still could have risen by 9. Plus, the bell rang a couple seconds after anyway so I think he still could have won. In either case it's not buster douglas' fault the way the ref decided to count

Jordan Cooke I dunno man I bet he does, he has massive torque in his swing
@jordancooke59805 жыл бұрын
@@bengray8333 MMA fighters have a wider stance due to being aware of takedowns. That wider stance doesn't give them the same torque a knockout artist boxer uses to generate knockout power. To make it plain MMA fighters don't put their entire body behind punches the way boxers do. Two reasons 1 is for fear of the takedown and two is because of the smaller gloves. With smaller gloves you obviously deliver power much easier than with 12 or 10 ounce gloves. All the MMA power punchers from Liddell, Rumble, Conor, Anderson, Ngannou, that Somoan (I forgot his name right now) if they went into a boxing ring under boxing rules with 12 or 10 ounce even 8 ounce gloves their power would be solid but not the homerun 1 punch knockout power it is in MMA

I think what made Mike decide to get completely out of boxing for good was after the loss of his daughter because he must've had a genuine fear of going too far and either either seriously injuring or killing an opponent in the ring. I'm sure his many negative experiences as a youngster were the fuel for his absolute onslaught in the ring but to imagine what it would be after losing your own flesh and blood. I don't believe he could with any confidence hold back that pain if he was ever to box again after that point. I'll never forget the interview he gave when his daughter was brought up and when he said to this renowned interviewer that he should go now and asked that he understands right? It was really sad because as Mike was leaving the interviewer slowly followed him and was so apologetic for bringing up the question and Mike was in tears and simply said that he can't deal with it and basically ended up apologizing himself like he felt he wasn't man enough to control his emotion at that time. It was really hard to watch and could never imagine what any parent would go through losing a child

Tyson never peeked either. He lost to Buster Douglas when he was only 23. He never could keep his head straight though and never bounced back. That is why he did not end up being the greatest ever. He had no control over his mind or emotions. In the end, probably the most physically gifted. On a side note, Francis Ngannou is the Big George of MMA.

Not alot of people know that Mike Tyson had a big secret. When he jabbed or uppercut he would bob and weave his whole body while swinging with his head down or to the side. It's so crazy when you watch how he moves his head, hips and shoulders as if he is trying to get out of the way, but that's when he is about to go in for the strike just nanoseconds before. Just watch some of his knockouts and the way that he uppercuts. That's why he is so ferocious because he was always moving while punching and therefore, just think how he was training his muscles and reactions in that way. There is a video where he explained to another boxer, can't remember his name, where he was doing this bobbing and weaving while punching technique, and I did that for about 5 seconds and was already feeling how many muscles you use and how hard it is to do, and Mike Tyson was doing that everyday, all the time. Just watch how fast his reflexes are when he swings for the knockout and how hard he punches. It's unlike anything I have ever seen with any boxer. His power was unmatched.

Mike hits harder... you have to hit harder to damage anyone with boxer gloves haha...
@bingbong61275 жыл бұрын
I dissagre. Francis is way heavier and bigger than mike, he has longer arms which equals more leverage and in general has the perfect body for striking with power. Also has huge hands that come into play when hitting with smaller gloves.
@miniman21325 жыл бұрын
Bing Bong Joe also said that McGregor has death in his hands ... he touches you and your consciousness is removed from your body. Where was that power against Mayweather? Did you really get the sense that McGregor hit harder than Mayweathers 49 previous opponents? Wasn’t it fairly obvious that Mayweather, who made a two decade long career out of taking every single precaution possible to get a victory had less then no respect for McGregors power? Let’s just stop pretending ..
@bingbong61275 жыл бұрын
@@miniman2132 again mcgregor has heavy hands that are better for bareknuckle and mma gloves. Floyd has little brittle hands that would break if he would punch anyone with mma gloves let alone bareknuckle. Francis literally launches heavyweights with punches. Do you know how hard you need to hit to be able to make 200+pound man have a moment of air time.
@miniman21325 жыл бұрын
Bing Bong you’re either not reading or just ignoring my point here. I didn’t compare Floyds power to McGregors, I think McGregor likely has more power than Floyd .. but Floyd clearly had never felt less threatened than when he was walking on to McGregors shots. That’s the point .. everyone thought McGregor had the power, but boxing proved he did not. Now you think Francis has the power .. if he was to fight at Heavyweight in boxing, I would bet that he would be proven to have less of a punch than most other HWs in the world.
@bingbong61275 жыл бұрын
@@miniman2132 i dissagre, mcgregor has heavy hand and great precision, it doesnt take a lot to knock somone out when you hit theme flush on the chin. Francis literally tuches people in the cranium area and shuts theme off. He nearly killed overeem with a flush uppercut. He's the biggest freak of nature in combat sports period. He's long and muscular at the same time. He literally has the same muscle proportions as joshua but is way more flexible and not stiff. He's a freak of nature period and probably had one of the hardest punches around. Boxers dont have any magical powers, mass x accleration equals power and he has both.

"I'm on the Zoloft to keep me from killing y'all," Tyson told reporters during a news conference to promote his Oct. 20 fight against Andrew Golota "It has really messed me up, and I don't want to be taking it, but they are concerned about the fact that I am a violent person, almost an animal," Tyson said. "And they only want me to be an animal in the ring.

No chance. Ali would have won before they had even stepped in the ring. Mike was mentally weak and was essentially a five round fighter due to his asthma. Ali had one of the best jaws of all time, and the movement to confuse mike. He'd keep mike on the end of a long jab and cut him up. Mike was also a bit of a bleeder. He's a top ten heavyweight but massively overrated by the casual fans.
