I’m not a big Joe fan but I think what he does is awesome in that he is doing the things he loves doing and doing them very successfully all the while helping his friends and sharing his success with them and doesn’t care what people say about it. There are hundreds of professional stand up comedians in the US, but there are only a handful whose specials I would watch. Most of them I wouldn't even watch a 10 minute youtube clip. And there's not one who I think is truly extraordinary. Those considered the greatest - Louis CK, Chappelle, Burr, Katt... - I like, but I can't remember the last time any of them dropped a start to finish banger. Chris Rock's last one was pretty good, as was Andrew Schulz', but what's the last really epic special we've had?

I got through half of this special and stopped, and am interested in some neutral opinions. I struggle with how he talks about comedy compared to his set. He’s not clever, he yells a lot and he was explaining some of his punchlines for some reason. He was also trying to be woke and anti-woke at the same time in my opinion. It was weird. The crowd seemed confused. I think he’s a victim of his own fame, he should just be the world’s richest comedy appreciator and hang his mike up. Time for Brendan to give him the talk.

My 100% unfiltered non-biased thoughts. As a UFC addict I am a fan of Joe Rogan. Because of that I ended up watching his Netflix special. I did not laugh once and I felt so embarrassed. It was one of those rare times when somebody does something that is just so awkward and embarrassing that you actually feel uncomfortable and strangely embarrassed yourself while watching. I am shocked that somebody did not tell Joe how absolutely beyond terrible these jokes were.

Good or bad, Joe provides a lot of entertainment for me at the gym, walking, driving, or working. I've never been a huge fan of his stand up, but the man provides value for a lot of people. I saw the majority of this stuff in person in ATL when he toured, but i also had it on Netflix in the background while I worked. Good or bad, he provides me with a lot of entertainment and it doesn't take much for me to put it on and support him. At the end of the day it's your choice whether or not you choose to support him.

No one disparages has podcasting acumen. All the hate is from the sad & true fact he is not terribly funny. He’s much funnier on his podcast than on a stage. He uses loud, aggressive voices, makes impossible facial contortions and aural microphone manipulation to overwhelm the audience in a feeble attempt at enhancing his mediocre “jokes”. Joe’s standup makes you go, “heh…..heh….heh”-never “AHAHAHAHA!” And it’s been this way for decades now. No improvements. Same mid set time & time again. For what goal, certainly for just ragging on his comedy, It would take a real crappy friend to do that. There is real danger in MMA and life altering consequences when you are not that great but Joes comedy career is successful even if mediocre and he isn’t going to get CTE or brain damage if he doesn’t tell great jokes. Honestly a lot of people don’t deserve as good a friend as Joe, helping all his friends also be successful in life, even helping the most hated comedian have a successful career in comedy because MMA was just hurting him. I’m not an even a fan of Joe but I know what a good friend is and what a crappy one is.
