A friend of mine who worked for the telephone system told me of a coworker who was out surveying for new lines by himself(in Churchill Manitoba, polar bear capital of Canada). He was a fair distance from his truck, working his transit when a small plane flew over..the plane kept buzzing him repeatedly,to the point the worker walked back to his truck ,wondering what in the world was going on..he headed for town...he found out later that a polar bear was a short distance away from him, just over a rise, belly crawling toward him..and the pilot was doing his best to make him aware of the danger...lucky man...

Soooo you’re on a large boat on an expedition, boat begins to sink. This expedition boat has no weapons on board? Not a rifle, captain doesn’t have a pistol? Spear gun? Flare gun? A spear or gaff.. Nothing, life boat? No survival gear? 🤔

In 1986 a kid got eaten by a polar bear in New York City. Three 11 to 12 year-olds snuck into the Prospect Park Zoo. Went to the polar bear exhibit. Swum in the polar bear moat. Then went into the polar bear cave, woke up the two polar bears by throwing stones at them, and... The two survivors said that the last thing they heard was, "IT HURTS!". Coca Cola commercials taught them that polar bears were cuddly and would play with you if you woke them up.

If I remember correctly, in the last 100 years, twice as many people have been killed by polar bears in New York state compared to any other bear. (2 by polar, and one black)

Just last spring here in Northern Bc a guy was camping in the bush about half mile off a logging road. Friends and family knew he was setting up game cameras but he was gone longer than expected. Conservation officers went looking for him after the second or third night and they pulled up to a mother bear and 3 cubs eating him in his tent. Bears are metal af

This is a true story, I was the person on that ice island that was thankfully spared. I still think about my friend Rodrigo everyday, if it wasn't for him, I wouldn't be here today writing this. 😔
