I am from the area of Ottawa where all this action happened and the city of Ottawa was not under siege. Some business that had been suffering financially had customers and were able to pay bills . This all could have been prevented if Trudeau would not have imposed the vaccine mandates. And the name calling from Trudeau of people that were not for the vaccine mandates, well that was it for me. The worst, I believed in what he said, voted for him. I was proud but not anymore. And their is more, never mind freezing the bank accounts, the truckers had to send their children away from Ottawa because the government was threatening to take their children away. Many left and some that were locked in the city and their truck could not leave ; well these truckers sent their children to safety. This was a peaceful protest and not a war zone.

Ottawa Canada here. One of the funniest things from the convoy was when the government made it illegal to bring gas / diesel to the truckers, even though the temperatures were -20 celsius or colder. So they'd freeze. Many Canadians, perhaps hundreds showed up with empty gas can to confuse the police. It was brilliant and funny as hell.

No-one went to Ottawa for any reason than to get a reasonable response from JT. The issues have been real and he could and should have acknowledged the protest message and spoke about it, yet he chose to exaggerate the purpose of the protest, he slandered protestors, created fake accounts of events and false allegations, lied to the people about what was going on and wanted to make a fight out of it. He thought he was too good to listen and speak to the people of the country, he chose to ignore everyone, broke the laws, and threw in a grenade to make a fight. And it's coming out now he lied about RCMP recommending or requesting invoking the emergencies act as well. The borders were already cleared without incident before the emergency act. I was there, aside from 6-7 blocks the city was functioning like usual. It was the police who removed or covered all the street signs the last few days and blocked highway ramps. Its legal to use the streets around parliament hill for protests. In the end, his big emergency was invalid parking of trucks relating to the emergencies act. JT authorized brutal police actions to end the protest. He blew his chance to show leadership, unite the country and instead behaved like an emotionally immature imbecile and shown how out of touch he is with reality.
