I met Steven Tyler once. He was a patron at my restaurant and I was his waiter. This isn't a "look how cool I am cuz I waited on a celebrity" story. I don't get star struck. Steven was down to earth, real, polite and articulate. When he left, he asked the girls at the host stand to get me so he could say thank you to me. No one does that. No one. Except Steven Tyler.

@Barry McCockiner It was the early 70's, she was 5 months pregnant, and she had suffered serious smoke inhalation and the baby more than likely had brain damage and would have been born severely disabled. He also openly speaks out against abortion now. Now what, you expect him to hate his daughters because of that? If you're going to judge him for something, it should be the fact he was sexually active with a minor you moron.

@Barry McCockiner Lol it's funny that somebody that can't spell words like statutory and convenient would have the nerve to call another person a moron. I'm not arguing against the fact that his family didn't accept her. But, she was in an apartment fire and hospitalized and suffered serious smoke inhalation. She was also actively using cocaine while she was pregnant. "I was at least five months pregnant and Steven coerced me into undergoing a saline abortion while I was in a hospital recovering from a fire that nearly claimed my life. Originally he had asked me to marry him." "She suffered smoke inhalation in a fire in their apartment in 1975 and alleges that, while she was recuperating in the hospital, Tyler pressured her to have an abortion. He expressed reservations about possible damage to the fetus from the fire and from her drug use (she admits to using cocaine, although less, she says, than Tyler)."

I remember being very impressed with him on American Idol. There was one episode where a guy was auditioning. His girlfriend had had some kind of an accident and was in a wheelchair (also had a brain injury). Tyler asked if his girlfriend was with him. He said yes. Tyler asked him to bring her in. When he did, he was so incredibly kind and sweet to her. He wasn't acting. He wasn't just making nice because of the cameras. He was genuine. He exhibited a level of humanity that we all should strive for. He's been A-OK in my book ever since. I can't believe the hate on for this guy. Steven Tyler is the ultimate rock God, he may not even realize it. He represents everything that a rock God should be. He did tons of drugs, had a horrible record deal where he made peanuts despite writing some of the greatest songs of all time. Not only can he still sing the hits, not only did Aerosmith reinvent themselves record after record, hit after hit, he seems to single handedly decide whether or not Aerosmith plays live. Can we please not forget he MADE Liv Tyler! I don't care if he's still on (designer) drugs, he deserves to get paid American Idol money, he deserves a home in Malibu. This guy is the real deal, he surpassed Robert Plant years ago when Plant was putting out A.C. records with Alison Krauss. Long live Steven Tyler
@The_Story_Channel6 жыл бұрын
I can believe the hate he receives because some people are jealous assholes or just assholes. I am not a huge fan of him or the band but I have respect for most people that have accomplished a hell of a lot more than I have. Those that talk shit about him are probably millennials or middle age dicks that have not done anything with their lives and are still living in their parents basements, then there are those who just hate on everything.

bob saget Morrison had everything except the ability to actually sing. Oh, and he died @ 27. Steven Tyler brought himself back from the brink, was able to evolve as a songwriter throughout the decades, & he's still alive, not to mention he's a much better rock singer than JM. I'm not the biggest Aerosmith fan, but I'm even less of a Doors fan, although I do recognize that Morrison was basically the template for future front men

Dear Mr. Tyler, I remember watching the show with my wife and commenting how a beautiful human being you were as a judge, not wanting to talk bad about anyone. Your mom was right, we would never know who you are but now we know. It takes all the modesty and decency in the world to be a good person especially when you were maybe the only person who could have a point criticizing because you are a singer. All your behavior is a sign to me of a great human being you are. May you have a good life and keep influencing others in a good way.
