@cody savoie Yes, keeping Jones as the headliner for UFC 232 was for the fans. They could have easily dropped Jones and made Cyborg and Nunes the main events and stayed in Vegas.

I barely ever comment, but I'm sick of this. Nick Diaz lost his best fighting years, and opportunities to feed him self over marijuana, but Jones gets chance after chance. From coke to roids, and he gets less time for snitching.. I've lost all respect for the UFC and the system they use to dicipline these fighters.

NSAC suspended Diaz. The UFC and USADA had nothing to do with that. Nick was eligible to fight in 2016 (he was 32) Nick missed out on his best fighting years cause he doesn't want to fight.

Asks about Frank Mir in the first minute - changes the subject almost immediately - goes back to Frank Mir - changes the subject again ... Basically 12 minute clip and the only answer we get is that Mir's 20 picogram positive for a long term metabolite is different than Jon Jones' 60 picogram positive for a long term metabolite, because Mir didn't cooperate with USADA or arbitrate... Mir gets 2 years, Jones gets a title shot. Snitches get stitches, except in the UFC - there they get belts.

Jon literally has more in his body than when his first popped, he tested clean in 6 tests in 6 months prior to this fight but then all of a sudden it’s an issue? Riiiiiigggghhhhtttt, then they say he flagged a couple times and yet no one told Dana?? He said the first he heard was the weekend he moved it, bullshit. @MarkWalmsley
@MarkWalmsley 6 жыл бұрын
They could and they do. It's an industry in itself. Joe even mentioned when talking to Bisping that there are camps who hire labs to help them stay one step ahead and cheat. The fact is the tests can still be beaten and because of that you have to suspect that some athletes will still want to try. Also the labs aren't suddenly going to disappear as even if one sport goes clean and their athletes decide to stop using, there will always be others in other sports.

Guillermo A no brother ur understanding it wrong. He said that the fighters would not be able to match the tests that USADA is doing away from the fighters to their own levels saying “I know there test has a trace of ostirin so I’m gonna take ostirin therefore I have an excuse.” Jeff is saying that there is no way a fighter can match the USADA test separate to what is being secreted through their body. First he states why people at home should not compare different substance which appear similar as there chemical properties and impact on the body can vary greatly. Then he goes on to compare two substances on the premise that they are both "chlorinated"(contain chlorine)?! That's like saying a VW Golf is the same as a Mclaren P1 because both have 4 wheels. Don't be fooled by this dude's bs. Jones clearly cheated, the UFC need and can't afford to lose the PPV Jones generates end of story!

What I learned from this exchange is that life isn’t fair. Marquee athletes are treated differently when breaking the rules than others in this sport. The UFC isn’t going to cannibalize itself. The juice has to be worth the squeeze. Waters wet, the sky’s blue, women have secrets...

Where is this “no evidence of intentional ingestion”? Because I sure as fuck don’t remember they’re being a scrap of evidence from Jones’ team in his court case. His entire defense was literally “why would I take steroids? It’s so stupid. I never did it, I swear.”

the best way to sort this all out would be for every fighter to have a designated usada testing employee, fighters give the employee a sample of all the suppliments they are taking, including medication and if approved even on the 1% chance its contaminated and comes up positive on a test for some reason it doesn't count as they were approved buy the employee showing there was no intent of cheating.

I like Jon Jones and all, but considering how others were punished for the exact same thing he was given a pass for, it really isn’t fair that he’s in the clear right now. What’s even worse is Jon getting away with this gives others an excuse to do the exact same thing.

I appreciate Joe trying to get to the bottom of this. I do trust Joe tbh. And I want to believe Novitski is telling the truth, but he can't really explain why Jon got such an unprecedentedly shortened penalty. And saying he's not involved with that part so he doesn't know, feels convenient. I'm even willing to believe Jon actually may not have done it again this time. But the shortened suspension for no apparent reason is kind of at the heart of this matter. At least for me it is. And the type of compartmentalization Novitski cites for not knowing, gives each entity or "compartment," deniable plausibility. So they're not working together, but all of their work comes together to get a superstar an anomalously short suspension. Someone is ultimately in charge, or a liaison or something at least. Lastly, Novitski said part of their decision was the fact that, "There was no evidence Jon had taken it on purpose." What? Like finding a steroid in someone's system? Like that kind of evidence? So, maybe I'm being devil's advocate, but is there any evidence that he didn't do it on purpose? Also, Novitski says one athlete may not have done it on purpose, but the athlete still had it in his system, so USADA had to weigh that. Well, Jones has turinabol in his system, so does USADA need to weigh that? Sad to say, imo, Novitski is becoming less and less believable. But I respect his willingness to discuss it. And I appreciate Joe for trying to sort out this mess. It's still crazy!

Until there is a way to prove whether or not it gives performance enhancing benefits, the line should be drawn at 1 piccogram.

So on ufc countdown we saw fighters using special equipment where the fighter goes into a capsule and they experience changes in temperature, air density etc. Apparently it helps fighters recover faster and enhances them "naturally". Now my question is: where is the line drawn on performance enhancing? Are pills and liquids a no no? And special capsules, equipment ok? it's just a question, let's talk about it.

The real reason is because Dana White needed to get rid of Frank Mir and needs Jon Jones to make him money. Dana INSTRUCTED Jeffery, he’s the boss. Just like how there’s videos and witnesses talking about Conor’s coke problem and obvious steroid usage. Conor is a money maker, that’s all that matters. Rules only matter when you aren’t needed...
