This was my first JRAD experience. I’ll never forget the feeling. We’re in-front of the guy with a inflatable carrot, to the right and in between the sound tent and stage(he shows up eventually he’s not there at first) THANK YOU FOR KEEPING THE MUSIC ALIVE

Here is a quote from Jon Shaw, the substitute bass payer: "I wanted to not try and play like Phil or Dave, two guys who are just absolutely incredible and very different. It didn’t make sense for me to try and replicate either of those things because I don’t think that would have worked out well and it’s not necessarily what people wanted to hear. I think I probably split the difference in terms of Dave and Phil’s style, so it was maybe pulling a bit from each, at least in terms of playing Grateful Dead stuff."

you guys never cease to amaze me...even your warm-up intro jam energy can be felt but I'm biased due to my love of a Stranger opener. haha Thanks for sharing this and kudos on the audio & video quality being top notch.

it was definitely a highlight of the weekend for me - though i did not have the same experience with the sound quality. could barely hear Tom. I was 10 ft from the sound booth.

@@D3adHead never seen em in person, but yeah they're good. They seem to go the more "sound as much like the original as possible" route and they are damn good at that, but I like the spirit of freshness and experimentation JRAD brings to it. This was my first JRAD show, and I was up front in a 'hypersensitive state' as Hunter would call it, so... left quite an impression. :D

As impressive as this manifestation of dead idolatry is, it begs the question as to how long they will stand upon the shoulders of giants until they are embarrassed into offering something wholly original?

@bumblebootwiddletoes5185 Жыл бұрын
That's not the point bro. And I agree with the dude above. The point is to give Dead fans a chance to experience the songbook live again - in JRAD's style (which is fucking amazing). They easily beat all the other bands doing the same thing. Honorable mention to Grateful Shred because they sometimes have extremely psychedelic, proggy versions of the songs. You won't hear that from them much, which is sad. I think they should do it several times a show.
