Very nice! It's hard to beat bucktail as the ideal material for jigs - plastic baits can't even dream about coming close to the flowing, life-like movement that bucktail has. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the feedback, Hank. I totally agree. Bucktail is a great material. Cheers Michael :0)

Wow! I don't know what to say... except Thank You :o) You tied that beautifully! I've never seen the action it has from that perspective, just from above, no wonder it works so well. Great contrast against light and dark backgrounds, I never realized the "chiaroscuro" effect it has. Thanks Michael, awesome choice of music too, very fitting for the state of the world right now... but you always make it brighter my friend. Cheers

And thank you my friend. You kicked this one off. Chiaroscuro effect? You continue to surprise me with your knowledge of strange and wonderful things... like visual art concepts... and music. Talking of the latter: yup I found this piece of dark mysterious swamp blues fitting for the current state of post apocalyptic(ish) reality. I don't know why, but dark blues and rock'n'roll always seems to cheer me up. Cheers, Michael :0)

Great video quality. You really have a talent. I just started tying jigs here in Mississippi for white and black crappie. I believe I’ll tie this up on a 1/8 and give it a go.
@MichaelJensensAngling4 жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot Chase. I think that would work for your crappies. Tight lines, Michael :0)

We have lots of walleye here in Minnesota so I will post a picture with your jig when I catch one. Nice proportions if my jig does not have a collar, should I put in a tread bump to get that flair right?
@MichaelJensensAngling4 жыл бұрын
Phillip, that would be awesome. If you send the pictures to my mail address (find it on angling.michaeljensens.com), I will make a blog with your catch on this jig. A thread bump won't hurt, when you want a little more profile. Alternatively you can tie the bucktail reverse. See how to do that in this video (around time code 4.57): kzbin.info/www/bejne/n2jXopqliNh1qqM Tight lines, Michael :0)

Very nice do you think these would work for saltwater bass in Ireland ? Another great video
@MichaelJensensAngling4 жыл бұрын
Yes, I am confident they will. I haven't used this exact pattern for sea bass, but I have used a very similar bucktail jig for those fish along the Danish west coast. The pattern i used was this more saltwater baitfish imitating jig: kzbin.info/www/bejne/f3XLmZaOa5qDe7M Tight lines, Michael :0)

Do you Gus think adding eyes to a jig makes a difference any help would be appreciated
@MichaelJensensAngling4 жыл бұрын
Hi Vern, I feel it makes a difference on some jigs. But I also feel that the silvery appearance of a leadfree jighead like this - kind of act like a eye... or a point of focus at least. So, I honestly can't say for sure if eyes help - but I'm confident that they can't hurt. When I tie jigs to imitate specific baitfish, I often put eyes on these. On jigs that are more provocative colored, I seldom do. But... if in doubt: Put eyes on. That might boost your confidence in your lure, and that is important. Tight lines, Michael :0)

Thanks Christian. I have never used nayat, but i guess it will work just fine in combination with bucktail. Cheers, Michael :)
