The drummer is my cousin Joe Travers and he plays in a band with Mike Keneally and Bryan Beller!!!! They are all the best of the best musicians!!! Joe Satriani can’t ask for a better backing band EVER!!!!

Totally agree ..this back up band rocks..had the privilege of seeing them live here in Perth Aust just a couple of weeks ago.....an amazing show and this song was a highlight.....the drummer did the most amazing solo as a kind of intro to the second set....brought the crowd to their feet.....

This song is ingrained into my soul. It's as if God himself handed this gift down from the heavens to Joe, to pass along to us. Might just be the best he's ever done, and there are so many great ones. I absolutely love Surfing with the Alien, The Extremist, Flying in a Blue Dream, etc., but What Happens Next is my all time favorite record from him so far. It is simply a jewel, to be treasured. One of those once in a decade ( or more ) type of records. Thank you so much, Joe. Excellent songs, ALL..........

Mike Keneally is the most unhailed musician ever. Only guy I’ve seen live play keyboards and guitar at the same time! Mind you, you have to be special to accompany The God JS !

He has so MANY of my "Favorite Song (S).....as a kid i picked up the guitar for a few years--just as, "Surfing With the Alien" came out. That was a "Magical Time" for Joe S. because he was just really coming on the scene as an innovative Guitar Genius. 💞.

Jeff like playing drums too. I bet he also loves rocking the fan base with his "right bunch of fellows" (B.T.O. ref😁) I love the tune. I referred to you/Joe for awesomeness without lyrics. Alyona ____ with a tune called "Through the Milky Way" or "Across the...". Both hands hammering on, maybe sustaining and/or pulling off . Way cool phrasing and creativity by a young person that likely doesn't care lawn sprinkler beats of the Lip Flop genre. ROCK ON JOE & TEAM!

chris deckard it is a licensed Floyd rose floating tremolo called the edge by ibanez. There was no need for you to "correct" him.

Is it me, or this song sounds like Carlos Santana? May be a little wha at the intro.
@MehYam21126 жыл бұрын
There's a lot of Santana DNA in Joe's playing, he's said so himself.
@joseparreira40926 жыл бұрын
I don't recognise any bit of Santana but I understand what you say. But though it's a very melodic melody, there is nothing about Latin American music style as Carlos Santana always uses. Also the way Joe plays each note in this or any music it's a completely different approach. Sorry to talk about details I guess it's my musician guitarist mind speaking too much. Anyway its just my opinion guys. ;)
@chuwy2k6 жыл бұрын
Joe Perry I’m agree with you, but if you turn the wha pedal half way down, it will sound like Santana’s most solo. But, as you said, Satch is another approach from other planet 🤘🏽👽🎸 👏🏽🇻🇪
@christianberrian30126 жыл бұрын
I agree the beginning does sound a little Santana like. It's cause of the melodic minor scale the melody is based on and the chord progression for that part. If it was played with a Latin groove it really would sound like Carlos
