Anyone bashing Mangini hows your drumming career??
@movieguitardude53276 жыл бұрын
Would you also ask a critic of the pope and Catholic Church how his career as the Bishop of Rome is going? It doesn't matter how anyone's career is going or what instrument a Mangini critic is playing. He is part of the whole crew around JP and nobody forced him to do that. What he does and doesn't do is in his own responsibility, so when he plays shitty he has to be held accountable for it. It is clear as day that Mangini's performances are wooden and uninspired be it here or with DT. He is a technical genius, yes - like a computer that's been programmed to drum and therefore lacking any soul and dynamics to his playing. Anyone who really knows their songs can hear and see that. So please, lay aside your Mangini-fanboyism for a minute and think about it why *so many people* find his playing lackluster and soulless.
@DonHaka5 жыл бұрын
@@movieguitardude5327 you are the one not seeing it from both sides. I like both of them, i do prefer portnoy because of his stage presence and overall attitude. But i have no problem with mangini at all. He is a sick drummer and watching him play is always enjoyable for me, and the same goes for portnoy obviously. He has tons of feel and when you say that he plays like a robot you sound like every other old man that complains about metal just being noise and that technical players arent good and so forth. Check yourself before you wreck yourself. It is obvious that they probably should have practiced a bit more on this particular track though. It was pretty floppy, but otherwise it was a good listen. and obviously mangini is never going to be like portnoy, since they are completly different people. But you are right about this "career" thing that people tend to do. It has nothing to do with anyones career, considering that people like bieber and gomez can get famous without being remotely talented. Please lay aside your portnoy-fanboyism and try to see things clearly from both sides of the argument. Being stubborn and constantly saying "my side is right and you are wrong" only makes you look like a fool.

Well, mistakes happen. In fact, I'm often happy to see that. I'm trying to learn Glasgow Kiss and Damage Control for some time and this at least shows that some parts are indeed difficult and almost impossible to play like on the album. That's fine. Problem with me at least is that I'm a perfectionist and often, get discouraged when I can't play a part exactly like it's on the album. It seems that even mister John can't. All good.
