You listen to Satriani when you were 15, he blows your mind. As the years pass you discover new music, new players, study music, play more than 30 years, struggle...a lot. Then, after a really long time you punch his name on the keyboard and watch him play. There it is, you are HOME. You can't overgrow Satriani man, you just can't...

I just had to laugh when I saw the lights come up and he's just grinning like, "Listen to this"... This still makes an old vinyl-to-digital era radio guy like me grin like a kid. One of the greats without a doubt and he just lets the guitar speak for itself. Outstanding!

I actually like it better when a fantastic musical performance is matched with good lyrics and them switching throughout. Brothers in Arms, November Rain and Pink Floyd is a great excample of this. They become guitar solos, rather than ... whatever this is, but still. A guitar solo has the added effect of breaking into what the rest of the song has established before. I love a good guitar solo entry !!

In 1990 I walked into Tower Records in London … and got blown back out the door! Flying was playing nice and loud … and my life took on a whole new meaning. Joe walked out in this cool tall pointy hat he had on to say Hi to the fans and I got his autograph on the CD. 6 months later mid Atlantic on a sail boat en route to the UK from Florida we made some serious waves listening to this as loud as we could! It’s been a pleasure Joe, it really has! Thanks!

I saw Joe live only one time. The room went dark and he started playing this, and when the spotlight came up it was him center stage, chrome glasses, chrome guitar, throwing out sounds that captivated the entire audience. He looked majestic and calm as he worked that blazing guitar into such beautiful music with streams of light shining off the chrome. It was fantastic. Also not, the set musicians he plays with are supremely talented as well. It is not a one man show by any means.

When I ws young, my middle brother and I never got along. One day, after school, he said 'c'mon...we gotta go, now!" I was confused. My mom & dad said - you better go with him. So I hopped into his white firebird with red flame stripes and he refused to tell me where we were going. Shockingly, it was a phenomenal car ride and we talked alot. We arrived in downtown Albany Ny at the Palace theater and the Marquee Letters blared "Tonight at 7 pm - Joe Satriani Surfing with the Alien tour" I screamed NO WAY!!!. Wow. I teared up. My first live show of Joe and it was awesome. Stu hamm there too. I'm 46 now, was 13 or 14 at the time and bought a bass when I was 12. My best friend immersed himself in Joe's music after his Mum died of cancer when we were both 13. I talked about him tonight. We haven't spoken in years. Simon Bassett if you see this message, get in touch. X

What a magical performance by every member of the band, you can feel the emotion almost as if you were there. Personally this is the absolute best version of the song I've ever heard.

Excellent! I like that Joe always has a drummer with a serious backbeat. It leaves room on top for him to play what ever he wants.

I think I've watched this at least a hundred times. Then, I bought every one of his albums off Amazon. Some are coming from England. This time next week, I will have the entire collection. Feels good. Feels like 1:27

It was love at first strum when I first listened to Joe!! I've been in love for over 20 years now. He is one with his guitar, and he makes love to it! I will continue to listen to this amazing rock God!❤

Bryan Kinney I haven't seen him (Jeff) in awhile but have seen his wife. Can't catch a name on the symbols either. Paiste comes to mind.

He's struggling on this song dontcha think? 2:30 he falls off the tempo and just never gets back... Ride cymbal for the entire song? Um, not really.

2:13 is by far the best part for me. Joe's like 'Yes, I can make my guitar wail and so much more'. So damn talented!
