This song is my childhood. My dad is a guitarist and got me into Eric Johnson first, followed immediately by Joe. This song, in particular, played over and over again - mind you it was on a cassette tape that I had to rewind every time the song ended. The entire album was amazing but this song was like my personal anthem as a kid.

He payed a subtle tribute to Deep Purple in the intro...a little "smoke on the water". This is an amazing live recording of this song.The Bissonnette Brothers on drums and bass.I call my local rock radio station and beg them to play this song on the first day of every summer. "War" and "Hordes of locusts" are two more that really slam. "Rubina's blue sky happiness"is perfect for mood enhancement if you just want to smile.Rubina is his wife.🙂✌👍🤘

i met joe in victoria bc canada at a record store i went to buy one of his new albums at the time and the last one was on the shelf and this guy grabbed the last cd before i could get to it ,so i asked the record shop owner to take my name put one aside for me when new stock comes in ,the guy that had the last cd heard this and said he was just looking and let me buy the cd so we started talking said his name was joe ,so we talked about satriani and what songs i liked from him etc half hour later the guy leaves and then the owner says do you know who you were talking to i said no ,store owner says that is joe satriani said he comes in there all the time because apparently at the time he was living nearby i met one of the greatest guitarists of all time and didnt know it until after ,btw he a great guy to talk to class act all the way ! did not reckognize him at first without his black hair i feel like i should be sitting in corner with a dunce cap .

Yeah Joe did teach Kirk Hammett how to play guitar, but he also taught Steve Vai how to play guitar, and I think Steve is probably Joe’s most famous guitarist, Satch is the most innovative and creative guitarist since the early 1980’s C’mon Satch… 👏👏🇦🇺

There are a very few handful of musicians who dominate their instrument and absolutely mesmerize you when they play LIVE, especially the guitar and Joe is one of those rare ones (Hendrix, Alvin Lee, Terry Kath, Van Halen and Robert Johnson the others I would add to that group). He is just having a blast making that ax wail and weep. I love the Deep Purple sound at the start to really kick you into high gear. Who needs vocals when your music sings to the heavens to be heard, if only people would listen!!!

@@RCmaniac1231 He is good but I am referring to Robert Johnson the great blues guitarist who influenced many great rock guitarists. The one who made a deal with the devil for his soul at the crossroad according to rumor and died at 27. The 27 Club that has Hendrix, Morrison and Joplin in it!!! His album King of the Delta Blues Singers (1961) is his legend finally being discovered. His licks much like Hendrix have been copied and imitated but never truly duplicated.
