Joe Walsh was a 70s guy. Whether with his first band in the early 70s "The James Gang" or as a brief time as a solo artist, or when he was asked to Join "The Eagles," Joe's era was mainly in the decade of the 1970s. Great guitarist, singer/songwriter. One of the best.

From the soundtrack of the movie The Warriors 1979 and later released by The Eagles on The Long Run album. Maybe that's where you remember it from Harri? When Joe Walsh lived In Queens he was in a gang, not a tough one, and based some of this song on those experiences. He said he had to be home by 7:30 to practice his clarinet. 😂 Just a great tune, with fabulous vocals and a memorable melody, both renditions amazing. Great reaction Harri. Thanks Harri and Imadrummin. 👏👏 Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦

The movie came out in 1979. The movie is about gangs in NYC. Deeper story than that. Joe was a star before the Eagles formed and joined them in 75.

The original analog man, Joe Walsh. What a great ambassador to music of my generation, than the talented "everyman" Joe Walsh. He represents the soaring joy, the anthemic nature, of rock and roll.

Was in New York City when this movie came out. I remember the big fear about the gangs acting up in the theaters. Went with a few pals and we did not see any problems whatsoever. The movie was a good thrill ride and the soundtrack was awesome. Swan: "Why'd you do it? Why'd you waste Cyrus?" Luther: "No reason. I just... like doing things like that!"

Joe Walsh for President!!!! "How ya doin' ?" I saw Joe several times as well as seeing the Eagles 4 times. The best was at the Coach House in San Juan Capistrano, a very small venue. Took tons of pictures and met him after , and what a sweetheart. Got 2 autographs, one on the insert to his anthology and one on the program from the Hell Freezes Over Tour. Wonderful human being........and wow...he is on my top 5 guitarists. So happy to see him here.

Imadrummin ... Wow one of my favorite songs from one of my favorite movies. Loved the gangs all out to get the Warriors and the great music. Martha and the Vandelas were great on no where to run. It might be too groovy for the Eagles but remember Joe was the lead singer in the funky rockers out of Akron " The James Gang" . Remember Funk 49? Walk Away?. Great memories Imadrummin. Bravo pal. 🎉🙃👍🇺🇸🇨🇦🇬🇧🤴

If it hasn't already been mentioned, I highly recommend "Pretty Maids All in a Row" from the Eagles "Hotel California" album. It is one of the most haunting and beautiful songs by Joe Walsh, and co-writer Joe Vitale . The song shows a very different side of JW than most people are used to.

Everything Joe Walsh does is great. His guitar is always amazing. If you need suggestions, look for anything by the Collins Kids from the 50’s. It’s rockabilly at its best. The older sister has a great voice and the younger brother is amazing on the guitar. Love your channel.

Saw this live with the Eagles and solo at the Us festival. And another great movie that could not be made today. One of the reasons the Eagles went with Joe was that they knew he would give them more of the rock edge than Bernie Leodon did.

It is a cool song - there's a Live stage performance online which is great. Prior to him joining The Eagles he contributed to The Warriors soundtrack (great movie, at least to show those times in NYC). Not sure how it holds up, but in the day it was a definite watch despite growing fears it would spawn gang violence in and around theaters. I was still in military and we had zero incidents, although a couple of my buddies were former NYC gang members.

The movie is a cult classic! You have to watch it! The idea of a gang falsely accused while battling every other gang in the city on the way back to their own turf just works! The choice of actors are good. The gritty 70s/80s New York Streets filmed in their ugliness has a strange beauty preserved on film. No other movie like it.
