Watching Joe shoot down Howard's romanticism is funny. They took refuge in each other. That's very honest.

I mean it’s decades later and they both were much younger and both were dealing with substance abuse issues at the time, so his sobriety (no pun intended) about the nature of the relationship is not surprising. She’s pretty matter of fact about it these days as well, though she talks more about what specifically inspired the song which had to do with Joe’s deceased child.

Friend of mine said someone invited him to a party in Glen Ellyn IL and when he showed up Walsh & Stevie were there hitting the rails pretty hard. He couldn't hardly believe it he thought he was tripping. Go to a party in GLEN ELLYN(???!!!) and end up doing lines with Joe Walsh & Stevie Nicks. Hilarious.

Howard should know considering what he does and his age, that was a VERY different time. People saw beauty in the relationship and were okay with the relationship breaking up and were still thankful for the experience. Especially as songwriters. I'm surprised he is pressing this point, free love was the theme at the time. Listen to the music, there's not hatred or people trying to disrespect one another. I AM looking forward to today's musical talent re-recording music from the 60's and 70's. It can change a world.

The author of the book that it's based on said that Fleetwood Mac performances she saw on TV in the 70s influenced her writing. I think that might be the extent of it.

@@thedude4672 It’s a little more than that. The turmoil of the relationships within the band is very much reflected in the book. FM had two couples breaking up during the early part of their rise to fame (three if you count Mick Fleetwood and his wife breaking up). The author of the book didn’t specifically re-tell FM’s story but their dynamic is all over Daisy.
