In the video: • The hopscotch scene: You got that-A minor reference and the child’s game. • The piñata: Another child’s game, and no Ovho’s were harmed. • He did 17 pushups, referencing his 17 Grammys and the PDF allegations. • In the room with speakers and the picture turned backwards: A jab at Drake’s “I know my picture on the wall when y’all cook up.” • The container scene: When he says “Devil is a lie, he a 69 God,” he’s dapping up Dave Free to call out Drake on the Dave Free baby allegations. Plus, Melyssa’s take on the containers I believe was spot on. • Yall got the significance of 4th of July. •. Whitney in a wife beater, addressing the DV allegations. • At the end, Kdot in all white, waving to Drake (who was at an all-white party when the video dropped). Lastly, the owl in the cage bowing to Kendrick: He put him back in the cage, referencing “I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings” by Maya Angelou-Kendrick likes Drake with the melodies. That’s all the stuff I caught. Hope this helps!

The video was a trial of Drake. It started outside Compton Courthouse. Kenny and 11 others were the jury (sitting in the room… the courthouse basically). The knock at the door was a sign from an old song “shave and a haircut”. It was used when slaves would have dance contests. That’s the point of the dancing. At the end, Drake was imprisoned for his crimes against Black culture (owl in the cage). When it shows the crowds, that’s the “people” celebrating the “verdict”. Mellow Tonin’ Music - go look it up.

You need to understand the setting at the beginning: you are late and then he sit down; there are 12 seats like a jury; its the courthouse at the beginning and it is judgement day where the jury is there to pass a sentence an rhe ending is putting the predator under bars; and in between it is all the evidence the plea given to then sentence the predator, after the owl in cage scene, the next scene is the crowd cheering outside the courthouse happy with the judgement.

To Mr. Joe Buddens remarks at 0:14 sir, if you were to listen to the album Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers, there is a track on there called 'Savior' which Mr. Lamar states, "Tupacs dead, gotta think for yourself" which is what he is doing with scenes with 'the containers' is to make the listener/viewer think for himself/themselves..

I think Kendrick the type to drop an album same day as Drake
@joshuawilliams82525 ай бұрын
I mean history shows that that's actually Drake's thing. He not only dropped a hastily put together project on one of Kendrick's album release days. He actually recently attempted to do that again because he thought that an album was coming a lot sooner and got some misinformation about the day.

I hate that Joe Budden didn't make money in hip hop because his catalog is impeccable. One of my top fives, and he quit rap for real. I know he found the bag was in podcasting Because no one really knows about his catalog. When I tell people Joe Budden is in my top 5 I got to start explaining **** And I tell them let me guess you never actually heard a Joe Budden album and I'm usually right. His last three songs going in on Drake are crazy, but Kendrick is a different type of beast I can't stop Rocking with it they not like us! Wap wap wap i'ma do my stuff

I think ppl are overlooking the importance of the family part n the song playing. It was a complete full circle of him saying drake is a master manipulator n how he played right into kendricks hands. Like he knew it would play out like this n everything was prepared n well process thought. N the owls head looking coward n scared. Truly a masterpiece. Most ppl doing reviews didnt even see dave free in the video.

I took the containers differently. If you’re from LA those containers are everywhere. Specifically when you go over the bridge that faces both the ports of Long Beach and LA you see massive ships bringing thousands of those containers in at a time. I don’t think it’s represents exports (what’s going out). It represents imports (what’s coming in). Those containers bring in all the cheap Chinese made junk that we buy in this country. Maybe what Dot is saying is Hip Hop was given away and now we’re importing a junk, watered down version of it back.
