Omad is stupid because human body can only synthesize 20-30 g of protein per meal. And if you want to grow muscles you will need like 130-200g of protein per day, depending on lot of factors. Your meals should be evenly split out.

When I was at university I did this exact same thing lol, but I worked out things I can get for a month then things I’d buy each week, like 10kg of rice from Tesco every other month for £10 in the Asian section, 1kg of oats from Aldi for 75p every week. I use to go to the farmers market at the end of the day and buy some super cheat stuff and got given a lot of shit that the stall owners didn’t feel like taking home in their vans like 1kg of tomatoes for a £1, quite a lot of eggs lol and just random stuff like broccoli 🥦 and veg.

There’s a lot of personal development to be attained through stoicism and a minimalistic lifestyle. Materialism and obtuse consumerism lead to never being truly content... kinda like being a slave to the system and always wanting more. Not sure I’ll be attempting this experimental diet any time soon, but you touch on some interesting concepts. That’s why I love your channel.... cool concepts and ruminations, lifting iron and good vibes. Even the occasional cool deep house/electronica tune. This channel will be on 250k by the summer 👍👍

I think that bit about not telling yourself 'no' often enough is so apt. I suspect the biggest reason most of us put weight on when we get older is because we can afford (financially) to say 'yes' to nearly every desire we have, whereas when we're younger, we can't afford it so the choice is taken away. Hence we go without those indulgences more often and are better for it.

The thing you said about depriving yourself from time to time, Joe... That's why Seneca sometimes slept on the floor and ate stale bread and drank water. He said that this way he reminds himself that shit could happen at anytime, and he can appreciate more the things he have. Plus, when the shitstorm strikes, he won't be surprised 'cause the new situation won't be new to him. Your brother have read Seneca, maybe he can confirm whether I put it right.

Not weird at all, some point in my life I had to lived off £1 per day for nearly a year. And Asda was sort of a luxury, one pound shop, Iceland was all I had. Bought them in bulk and at discount, had to walk 30 min back home with a trolley. I didn't do calories counting though, so it was pretty much not very nutritious. I do manage to have it below £1 and every now and then I treat myself with Doner Kebab. I do like this video and your other video about Meal Prep on budget. I mean not everyone can afford to a lot ( Comparatively speaking ) amount on protein shake, food etc.

Watched this video a few times but not commented. I think the difference between want and need is the message for me. I lived on the Kenny Road in Liverpool at college in the early 90s and if you went in the Aldi and grabbed a tin of beans or sbag hoops they GAVE you 2p at the till. You could walk out with a tin for free and 2p in your pocket. Only allowed to buy a maximum of ten though in any trip which was perfect as a loaf of sliced was 19p. You could eat for free and make 1p profit as long as you didn't mind your halls room permanently smelling like the inside of a bag of dry roasted peanuts due to the aggressive flatulence such a diet provided. I can't even imagine what being proper homeless or proper on your arse feels like as even in those student days the bean diet was just a trade of nutrition to free up more beer money. You could have tried this, saw it was grim and just not put the video out if you smashed a giant kebab on day 4 but you stuck with it. Can you live on £1 a day...yes....but as you point out its the equivalent of gaffa taping your taste buds and eating just because you need to. To go some more its not just a case of how many calories can you extract per 100g but the reality for some is that you have to work out how many calories do I get for every 50p of Leccy burned. Three hours in the oven for a casserole....fuck that..too expensive. Kettle of water over a bit of pasta....leave it ten minutes and muller it plain the hard side of al dente for 5p is the more likely choice.
