Why Plants Bolt

If you grow cool season crops then you've probably noticed it sends up a flower stalk practically over night. That condition is called bolting. Joe Lamp'l explains why this happens and what you can do about it.

Another reason for bolting is that this is the 2nd year of a brassica and it's the natural year for its focus on seed production.
