38 below in Maine is cold 🥶 When I was kid we would go up to East Grand ice fishing for a long weekend every year. One year it was brutal, one day it was 30 below with a 30 mph wind. We actually went out fishing that day too. We had to bring the snowmobiles into a heated garage to get them started . We had to bring the auger into the ice shack and heat that up to start, so we could fish. I tell people that story that are not from Maine and a lot of them think I’m full of it. Love the stories Joe. Keep ‘em coming👍

East Grand can be a cold place on the planet. I have only seen it colder once in Maine than that time at -38 and it was also in the NMW, I was thinking it was handy to -45f not counting wind chill. Lucky for me that day it was still . We've had some days like yours on Chamberlain with wind chill being -65

Yup to this day if I close my eyes I can still see the cow moose I hit skidding up the front of the truck and over the cab , was drive a 2005 Silverado 1500 extended cab 4x4 only had the truck for couple months so was pretty well brand new , was 19700 Canadian dollars of damage to the truck , insurance they fixed it , but yeah I never got a scratch on me , needless to say that truck was cursed cause 6 months after I got it back a car ran a red light and I t boned the car and totalled the truck off that time , only owned that truck for 11 months ,
