Bell’s Palsey. I had a bout of it about 7 years ago. It’s stressful and embarrassing, but he will recover. The big deal is that bell’s palsey is a cry for help that the body has. Personally, mine was caused by ultra high blood sugar and resulted in my type 2 diabetes diagnosis and ultimately lead for my getting help for my diabetes and the bell’s palsey healed when my sugar went down to normal. Bell’s palsey isn’t always for diabetes, but is a warning bell that something serious is going on. He needs to get a total physical, separate from a physical for sports.
@JJFX-7 ай бұрын
That doesn't seem like bell's palsey to me. It appears to ONLY be the eye that's affected. The rest of that side of the face seems fine. Not to mention it was triggered by trauma. EDIT: OP is correct. He hid it well but there is evidence of it affecting the mouth/nose and they confirmed he's being treated for it.
@oppinoy7 ай бұрын
@@JJFX- Trauma can cause bell’s palsey. But I haven’t studied his face. I hope he doesn’t have Bell’s palsy and it’s just a short term issue. It wouldn’t surprise me that it’s already healed and turned out to be nothing, since he is an elite athlete. But having experience with Bell’s palsy, personally, that’s what it looked like to me. Bell’s palsy is progressive to an extent, and until it is treated with ice/heat and steroids. If it does turn out to be Bell’s palsy, he will just need to wear a mask similar to someone with a broken nose, to protect the eye. I hope Bell’s palsy is the worst case scenario, because it’s just inconvenient, but recoverable.

I understand your concern, but the mere mentioning of a problem with your head, will trigger the concussion protocol and take you out for a game, it could and in Embiid's case will swing a playoff series, sixers have no chance if Embiid doesn't play (they barely have a chance to win when he plays), there is no way any (important) player would admit this type of problem in the playoffs, not just professional pride, how well you play in playoffs is directly tied to the contracts you can sign in the future, it can be tens of millions of dollars at steak.

I think it's Bell's Palsy, I saw his nose and that side of his mouth not moving as well, you can see it when he talks out of one side of his mouth (although his eye seems more affected). He tries to hide it, as can be seen by the fact he wears sunglasses in public or looks down when speaking to the media in just the last week. The exact cause of Bell's palsy is somewhat unknown, although things like stress can increase chance they think, I imagine the stress of him coming back from yet another knee injury during playoff time contributed to chances of getting it. They'll have to make sure his eye gets frequent eye drops and maybe even specialty contacts to prevent damage from dryness. He went into the locker room after a quarter possibly for some sort of treatment there I'm guessing

@@Lakeshow304_ The guy was talking about unluckiest players so Embiid being one greatest centers is related to that how? Players have died in car accidents and some careers have got ruined totally by inuries so I think those guys are more unluckier than Embiid. Emiid is great.

This man is under so much pressure it’s crazy. From the France situation. To fans from Philly to fans from to New York. He’s being pulled in so many directions. He may have a nervous breakdown.

I hope he wasn't exposed to a bit of botulinum toxin. He probably wore a bandage scleral contact lens throughout that duration otherwise, pain receptors would've fired excessively. On the other hand, trigeminal nerve disease (often of viral origin) could have numbed the pain.

I’d say Bell’s palsy. Happened back in high school n my mouth didn’t droop n u can see how the left side of his face isn’t moving either like the other side. My face tripped out for about a week or two.

This so called "doctor ",is telling people there wrong and its not Bell's palsy, but then in his next video he says it is Bell's palsy, and that's after Joel said that he was dealing with the symptoms,this pos doctor doesn't know what he's talking about!,smh

I believe it could be bell's palsy, I had a flare up last year, and my right eye wouldn't close completely and and blink sensation was gone
@NachitoBronco7 ай бұрын
@Dr. Sutterer I had something similar like this happened to me where my right eye would blink, but my left eye wouldn’t and then a few days later I had Bells Palsy. It all started with a metallic taste in my mouth, then a day later the left side of my tongue was numb. In a couple days after that I had face paralysis on my left side.

Did you heal?

To this day, about 9 months later, I still haven’t returned to 100%. I still have a lazy blink and my upper left lip still doesn’t rise all the way when I smile. I don’t slur anymore or have to wear swimming goggles in the shower anymore so that’s good.

That's bells palsy. I have it too. I recovered from it by taking Vitamin B and I've also had acupuncture and I also have face massage every now and then. Less screen time from phone and gadgets would help too
